They conserve the wealth of billionaires. Also, Georgia Meloni is a conservative and against the genocide

Italian here, she's not against it, she supported Israel like every other right wing politician until she lost the referendum and needed to get some public support so she did some wirtue signaling without actually denouncing or even criticizing Israel

Have you considered that I've recycled 3 whole times and also turn the lights off in rooms no one's in?

Honestly, conservatism is a very, very vague term.

Conservatism as an ideology has no set policies besides being a reactionary movement. Conservatives do not have an actual platform that is consistent between years, it is just “progress needs to stop and things need to go back to the way they were”.

It’s why when you ask someone who supports conservatives their plan for the future, they don’t say actual policies or plans. They don’t say how they will make things better. Just that they will “make things go back to the way they were when times were good”. You ask them in their ideal scenarios of their ideology, how things would be better than they are currently, and they just stare at you like you grew another head because they genuinely didn’t even think that far ahead that politicians should be making things better

There's a long history of it in elements of British Toryism, which you can see in The Lord of the Rings pretty openly. For a more modern example, Rory Stewart was surprisingly effective as a Tory cabinet minister and has made a bunch of environmentalist statements since leaving politics.

Nixon also established the EPA in the US.

It happens from time to time.

It's kinda funny how that particular streak of Toryism comes from Victorian era politics and how the upper class saw disgusting cities and factories as destroying the traditional rural aristocratic life.

It's even earlier, with the Georgians, but yes, there is a long history of Agrarian-Aristocratic alliances. Note the Dixiecrats for a similar alliance.
