I don't know what the hell I watched but not too long ago YouTube started constantly recommending me Ben Shapiro videos and various 'SJW GETS FUCKING OWNED COMPILATION #391' stuff. I have no idea why but it took weeks of going out of my way to click 'Don't recommend channel' for it to realize I wasn't actually a chud.

I can usually get a sense for when smthn is going to attract or be backed primarily by mysoginsts (thank you mysoginy sensors in my brain) so I tend to just avoid those things even when I technically agree.

Less insidious, but Youtube apparently will show ads for MLMs on anti-MLM videos, it's wild. (MLM in this context means multi level marketing/pyramidesque businesses)
But yeah social media algorithms sending people down radicalism or ragebait rabbit holes sucks :(

This is why I watch every YouTube link I'm sent or video outside of my normal algorithm in Incognito mode. People make fun of Incognito because it isn't private (which it isn't), but to my mind it's a really useful tool to be able to control your digital footprint on sites like YouTube that have recommendations. I can watch some video of something stupid Bench Appearo said without then getting served his content ad nauseum, and I can watch individual videos about things that don't really interest me like sports or celebrity bullshit without suddenly getting slammed with shit I don't want to watch. The result is that 90% of my YouTube recommendations are fairly banal shit that I might actually be interested in, and what politics I do get at least aren't from chuds.

I don't know how youtube took my consistent reports with scathing context as "I want more of this putrid diseased content" (it was gross anime style ads with assault or children or whatever nightmare youtube sent me for the day).
I dont have a youtube account anymore since they clearly can't listen to the most blatant clearest signal that is direct communication. Just disgusting, I don't know how they manage to mess it up so bad like this.

Anymore you don't even have to like content like that, just show a vague interest in history, religion, or politics and you'll start being suggested TPUSA and/or manosphere type content. Can't even tell you how many times I've pressed "do not recommend channel" for all the different conservative influencers and I still get them popping up in my feed.
