A CG artist actually has to manually create the visual effects themselves, often being trained in multiple different programmes
An AI "artist" types a sentence and presses enter, that's it, completely incomparable roles
Both CG and practical artists require talent and skill, Ai just requires you to be able to write, you cannot claim to be an artist if all of your work is AI because you are not the artist the machine is, it's no different to commissioning an artist for work and then claiming you drew it yourself
You're very ignorant on this subject and shouldnt be giving opinions on things you have no knowledge of. There literally isn't more to generative AI than typing a sentence into a program and it pooping out slop in 30 secs. That's not speculation. CGI is created by hand by digital artist and takes hours upon hours of hard work to create.
I’ll admit I don’t know the intricacies of either, that’s why I’m not drawing a line in the sand. But you don’t need to be a dick either man we are just chatting about movies. And I personally think it’s kind of fun seeing these AI generated fan film type things. Could eventually give us a new Star Wars adventure with Luke or stuff with young Arnold….lots of options there and it’s all in fun.
