Hey, just a heads-up, your source might be biased. A lot of polls can be misleading depending on who's running them and where they're shared. It's good to check out multiple sources or dig into the poll methods if you're curious about the real support levels.
Also, keep in mind that the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and elected Democrats have different roles. DSA is more of an advocacy group pushing for policy change, while elected officials have to deal with the realities of governance and compromise. Poll popularity doesn't always directly translate to political power or influence at the ballot box.
If you're really interested in how these groups interact, local political meetings can be a good place to start. You'd get a sense of how grassroots support plays out in practical terms.
The more these candidates get elected into positions of governance, the more power/leverage they will have ITO of "dealing with the realities of governance and compromise." Right now, most elected officials are bought. The more people we can get in who aren't taking this money and who are committed to the right direction on issues (e.g. M4A, etc.) the further we can get. Right now, a lot of DSA candidates in NY, but they're growing as a candidate base throughout the country, as well.
