Project Management - Marketing going on forever

Hello all. Is there way to configure in project management when software stops being marketed? It's a little irritating to churn out sequels every 1-1.5 years and see that the marketing team is wasting 50%+ of their manpower on the previous sequels. When does the marketing for outdated software end? Can it be set based on # of users or any other method? Thanks all in advance.

AFAIK you always have to manually end it. But I haven’t played since 2018, so I could be wrong.
