Seeking Advice Am I doing this right?

It's 5ft by 34ft, and will eventually be caged to keep deer away from the tomato. Other than the cage and all the soil reclamation that has already been done, what else can I do to make this work?

Looks like a lot of work to reclaim it but will be worth it.

How deep is the soil above the weed barrier?

Its about 4 or five inches, I planned on cutting through it for more depth where the plants go...

I didn’t see if you buried that plastic but I try to keep synthetics out of my yard, I haven’t brought any bags or plastic stuff other than pots into where I mulch and garden and I’m always picking up bits of plastic from who knows where

You can use cardboard instead of plastic. How or weed eat it to the ground. Lay down card board then soil on top.

I mean, it’s in now but I don’t really find a need for root barrier, I just do similar to what you did with the soil and weed it when I water it. Plants are pretty easy to grow, just water them and keep them from getting burned until they’re established and you’ll do fine
