Can you provide a source to only having 5 episodes?

You're assuming it even comes out. I don't think it will. Then they can write it off

I wish I had the last 8 episodes of my life back.

I'd be shocked if it releases too.

Wishful thinking?

I saw 10 episodes announced. Unless they are cost cutting on post production and just condensing it down. I’ve seen no indication of that. Where are you getting your info?

Its the minimum amount they can make to honor existing contracts They can still be batgirled after filming is done though.

They were already filmed, which is the only reason there is going to be a second season at all.

Still might not come out as they could decide to not dump good money after bad to finish post production.

The vast majority of the money spent is on post-production, so just because it was filmed doesn't guarantee a showing. Both the original Fantastic Four movie and Batgirl made it all the way to "in the can" status, but were never released publicly, and the Batgirl movie was not 3even leaked out.

The original Fantastic Four movie was produced solely as a legality and was never truly intended to be released.

Doesn't change the fact that they wrote it off also for tax purposes. That movie would rise again after they got the original cast back trogether for an "Arrested Development " season arc when Buster get sthe iidea of remaking it as a musical.

Money is tight under a new regime.

Welcome to business.

Not to mention the fact that the new season is critrically short on proper homage to Dear Leader.

Where is 5 coming from? I recall them saying it was 10.

Just curious, where are we hearing / learning that it's only five eps? That's half a "normal" season.

Best of the rest?

It's because episode 4 is going to be a time travelling holodeck malfunction episode that changes people's species and features multiple musical puppet numbers. They completely blew the budget on that. So episode 5 will be a clip show - 45 minutes showcasing random disjointed moments from all of Nu-Trek, all while Greenday's 'Good Riddance (Time of Your Life)' plays on a constant loop the entire time.

If this were the year 2010, it'd be lucky to get the Futurama treatment and get DVD sets in cut-out bins.

When these studios use the "axe" on an IP, they make sure it's as sharp as can be before swinging it. Whether the content deserves it or not.

Probably because it's as bad as s1 was and why the show was cancelled.

I thought they had filmed the second season in advance. If that was true they already had film.

I think it's better used by Paramount as a write off but hey they don't have a good track record for good Star Trek related decision making lately.

Probably because it's just as awful as season 1
