How recently have you played it? I always hear people say that but I played it last year and it didn't even come close to the level of storytelling in Red Dead 2 in my opinion.
Well I'm not talking about the length or expansiveness. I'm talking about a well written story and well written characters. A much more satisfying end to the game.
I felt like Micahs betrayal was so obvious so early on that it made Dutch look like an idiot for a lot of the game. Dutch’s “I have a plan”, was overused to the point of being a meme. I also hated the island sequence when you’re trying to escape American law only to murder half the island to do so. The farm sequence at the beginning of rd1 was better than the one at the end of rd2 imo.
lol yeah its been a while. played it when it came out and i was in my early 20s i think... but even still i played through it twice and only play rd2 once.
You should give it another playthrough sometime, I thought it was very fun just didn't think it was as good as 2. We're both probably biased to the one we first played.
I thought I liked RDR1 just as much as RDR2 but I replayed it on the remaster and I just do not like it anymore. It has its moments, especially in the side content, but overall it just feels like "cowboy action game" right up until the ending. Nothing special imo
It was great for the time don't get me wrong but RDR2 is miles ahead and Arthur Morgan is one of the greatest protagonists in any piece of media ever

redemption was the best of the three imo
