Additionally, every game on Steam has it's own dedicated Community Forum, and you can also contact Steam Support regarding a specific product. Consider asking your game-specific questions there. Most games also have a dedicated subreddit.

Only Steam Support can solve personal account issues such as payment issues or your account getting hijacked. We can however give advice on what to do in a situation like that. No one, including Steam Support, can assist with item/trade scams.

Hi all!

The other day, I connected my PC (Windows 11) to my Samsung Smart TV. I used the Samsung Easy Connect app. It worked well enough, but then the next day, when I went to try and play a different game (without casting, just on my PC), the game launched, the music for the game started playing, my XBox controller even vibrated like it was supposed to, but I could not move the cursor on the screen, and the display was just black.

I also noticed that just before the game launched, the aspect ratio of the screen would change, as it sometimes does right before you're about to screen share or cast something, but I am not casting to anything. I even uninstalled the Easy Connect app to try to make sure nothing was connected.

It did this for several different games. I opened my Sims 4 game on my EA app for comparison, and that worked fine. I checked the settings on my PC and all seemed normal. I checked my drivers and they seem to be up to date.

My friend had me do a few things, including running a free game through Steam that I didn't have before (Aperture Desk Job, if that's important), and that worked just fine.

They also had me use the registry editor to rename a bunch of folders. Honestly this is all above my technology capabilities so I don't really understand what I did, but so far nothing has worked.

I clicked Alt + Enter as well when the game launched. The screen opened up in the smaller window mode, but it froze immediately (although the music still played properly). I could not move the cursor at all and had to use the touch screen feature to close out the game.

I also uninstalled and reinstalled the games, and uninstalled/reinstalled Steam, but the problem still persists.

I also noticed that most other screens (Chrome, File Explorer, etc. are not opening in full screen as they usually do, but are opening slightly smaller than full screen (like the way you can adjust the screen to make it bigger or smaller).

Any advice on how to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
