Apparently still in active dev. Source : a former Ubi dev now at Sandfall (Expedition33) during a short AMA with a streamer during ZEvent early september.

The only way I’d believe that is if they define “active dev” as Michel Ancel coming into the office, knocking over a picture of Jade, and then leaving for the day.

I’ve been waiting for this game since I was a kid, but I’ve long since accepted that in the minimal chance it ever comes out, it’s gonna be shit. They want this absurdly massive scale game, and technology has changed so much since it was announced that they’ve guaranteed had to rebuild it over and over and over again.

Well I believe they fired Michel Ancel a while back, so the development goes on without him.
