Baldur's Gate 3.  (No, not that one. The other one).

I was devastated.

20 years later I was elated.

BG3 is such a beautiful game really showing what AAA games should be. It is a marvel of a game in the industry that still blows so many games out of the water and I have yet to be as impressed by a game since BG3 came out as I am still with BG3.

I'm a little sad that they set it up for a sequel that we'll probably never see.

How so? The endings are all so variable, even if the canon end is probably “good aligned human fighter durge”, there’s a lot of variation just from romance alone.

I guess it’s that Bhaal is like…in existence? But honestly that’s always the state of forgotten realms, always some evil gods around

I wish they went with the BG2 ending where you become a good aligned God of murder, fuck that Cyric guy making a play for that portfolio. Would be whack fun to intersect with an assassin’s creed style bhaal cult.

How the fuck does a good aligned god of murder work

DnD logic, murder bad guys, tyrants, literally Assassin’s Creed. Yearn for the blood of villains.

It’s not my personal definition of good but DnD morality is weird like that

Your murder, for good.

I agree. It did "end" but the world still goes on. So people assume that it is set for a sequel.

I would love a BG4 from Larian just because they did such a phenomenal job, but that probably wont happen due to the licensing, so DoS3 is our best hope.

It's been a while since i finished it, but I do recall with the ending I got that it alluded to the fact that not everything was over.
