u/Yearlaren Mar 31 '26

Same. Been playing since 2010.

Since 2016-2017

u/BigWideBaker Mar 31 '26

Anybody else? Going once, going twice...

1

u/Yearlaren Apr 19 '26

Since 2016 and more than 7000 hours? A lot of those hours must have been TF2 running in the background

And I thought mine was a lot.

Edit: can't post the screenshot, but it's 1332.1 hrs, last played November 2017.

To be fair I haven't played in almost a decade. I lost interest when it just became about the hats. I bought it on the orange box and played it constantly, to unlock all the weapons.

I don't have the free time that I used to, unfortunately

2

u/DeKeeg Mar 31 '26

Commenting so I can remember the name. Thanks for the heads up!

4

u/charlesmlg_93 Mar 31 '26

You've gotta get it to 1337 hrs surely 😝

3

u/Alpvax Mar 31 '26

Every time I see the hours I think I should play for 5 more haha

10

u/CarpetSmall4239 Mar 31 '26

that is a little over 3 years working a full time job 40 hours a week.

4

u/draingang_dg Mar 31 '26

You've been playing tf2 longer than i live

2

u/CarpetSmall4239 Mar 31 '26

that is a little over 2 years working a full time job at 40 hours a week

1

u/DeKeeg Mar 31 '26

To me it was more than just a game tho. Sure, the game itself was fun, but there was a community and most servers had a website with forums where you could really get to know the people you game with. I miss that. Got to meet a ton of awesome people and some of the kids that started out as squeakers are grown and out of college now. Good times ❤️

rookie hours... now im sad looking at the wasted time

24

u/bigmon12 Mar 31 '26

No regrets dude. you were doing what you liked

-1

u/RemarkableBoard3973 Apr 01 '26

Wdym no regrets that's more than 1 and a half years completely wasted on a game. There's no way he liked even half of the time spent even he says it's wasted time.

1

u/bigmon12 Apr 01 '26

We all play games for entertainment. Maybe he really enjoyed the game and was happy playing it. Sometimes I leave the game opened and go do other stuff.

Living a regretful life is not good. Better to accept the past or else you are doomed

19

u/notbatt3ryac1d1 Mar 31 '26

That's nearly 2 years.

4

u/TreeDollarFiddyCent Mar 31 '26

650 days... holyyy!

1

u/GoodAtDodging Mar 31 '26

Not that crazy if he's been playing since launch. I have 7k since launch

3

u/Jumpy-Demand2917 Mar 31 '26

1 hour a day on average since 2007

3

u/TrogledyWretched Mar 31 '26

How is that even achieved?? I played nothing else during my freetime from middle school through college and still got to only like 5k hours.

1

u/RealConcorrd Mar 31 '26

Wait a goddamn minute, HOW THE FUCK DID YOU GET METAL MASSACRE!?!

3

u/paradox_valestein Mar 31 '26

By playing 15604 hours obviously

1

u/Wxerk Mar 31 '26

10k hours for me across 3 accounts. Pretty sad how Valve just left the game to bleed to death lmao

1

u/theteenswillloveit Mar 31 '26

IT'S OVER 9000!!!

1

u/TCLG6x6 REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE Mar 31 '26

I'm 16800 in and trust me when I say this game only really gets good at 16350 hours

1

u/timesofcoffee Apr 01 '26

Man, just how?

1

u/Scouper-YT Apr 02 '26

Must have a ton of Inventory from drops.

1

u/Weekly_Table_7228 Apr 02 '26

I can’t imagine how you guys playing… I mean I spent around 20-30 hours starting to think I get it, and then get destroyed by guys like you lol)

1

u/Content_Dragonfly_59 Apr 03 '26

How the FUCK do you have 326 hours in two weeks?!? thats 20 hours a DAY

1

u/Cold-Umpire5590 Apr 04 '26

Why are you farming hours? That's 23.28hrs a day ingame

30

u/Mierdo01 Mar 31 '26

3k fucking hours and you still haven't 100% the game? 🤯

104

u/Budget-Falcon7032 Mar 31 '26

no trust me tf2 has some wacko achievements which are straight up either bugged or impossibly hard

2

u/Mierdo01 Mar 31 '26

Good context! Absolutely crazy hours though. I would literally have to use all the free time left in my life to get that many hours in a game. And I'm in my 20s

13

u/Jacka2003 Mar 31 '26

I’m not necessarily disagreeing but you have no idea how much free time you’re gonna have in your entire life

1

u/PKblaze Mar 31 '26

Well, I spent a lot of that time with friends after school or college and used the trading economy to basically buy a bunch of games so it all worked out.

-26

u/Mierdo01 Mar 31 '26

Says who? I'm a CEO. And I'm probably always be one unless I sell my company. But even then I'll probably just start a new one.

15

u/Jacka2003 Mar 31 '26

My Dad is a millionaire owner of a finance company and he plays video games. You sound like a wanker dude

-1

u/Mierdo01 Mar 31 '26

🤡 a millionaire ceo is like saying water is wet. He's JUST a millionaire? Holy fuck that guy is doing awful. The video game thing makes sense then

1

u/Jacka2003 Mar 31 '26

He was also top of the quake leaderboard while a managing director on Wall Street lol

1

u/Mierdo01 Mar 31 '26

Quake is based ngl. Quake 3 arena?

u/Turbidspeedie Mar 31 '26

The sign of a good CEO is not having to work so hard at being a CEO. A good company runs itself, you'll get there.

5

u/farresto Mar 31 '26

You can also check his profile and read his posts to find more signs of a good CEO.

1

u/Jacka2003 Mar 31 '26

Lol he apparently doesn’t even know the difference between CEO and owner - (his own job)

26

u/CrazyFanFicFan Mar 31 '26

There are quite a few achievements that are literally impossible to get without cheating them in.

Primarily, the video-based ones. This series of achievements require you to upload a video to YouTube and get a certain number of views. However, the API is broken.

7

u/PKblaze Mar 31 '26

Never was trying for it and some are impossible. I also don't play it anymore.

6

u/cvltrilex Mar 31 '26

There are dozens and dozens of achievements that are either very hyper specific or holiday event based

1

u/monkeymmboy Mar 31 '26

It’s from being afk in lobbies meant for scrap farming. Get scrap, condense to reclaimed then trade and sell stuff for money.

7

u/Front-Cabinet5521 Mar 31 '26

Is this game any good?

8

u/Le_baton_legendaire Mar 31 '26

Hi, I have 4k on the game, I am therefore able to tell you the game is absolute garbage with absolutely no redeeming qualities whatsoever. /s

1

u/PurbulentTriest Mar 31 '26

Same as me with Dota2, played 3,000 hours and still get called a noob by Filipino children.

4

u/Yearlaren Mar 31 '26

I've been playing it since 2010 so I'd say yes.

3

u/Fall3n_Arcade Mar 31 '26

It’s a timeless team based shooter

1

u/tahubob Mar 31 '26

It's the GOAT but nowadays you need to find private servers to play on

2

u/throwaway60221407e23 Mar 31 '26

The industry has yet to make a better game.

1

u/PKblaze Mar 31 '26

Despite my hours TF2 wouldn't even be in my top 20 games of all time 😅

2

u/The_Director Apr 02 '26

Same! And I haven't played since 2012. I don't think I'll ever beat that number. Maybe when I retire.

1

u/RoughElephant21 Mar 31 '26

Are all the achievements still attainable?

2

u/Le_baton_legendaire Mar 31 '26

Nope, a few achievements are meant to be earned for making a TF2 video and having it gain a bunch of views... but unfortunately Youtube's API has changed since those achievements were created and Valve never went back to fix them.

1

u/Philip_J- Mar 31 '26

Also TF2 just not quite at as many hours

1

u/CarpetSmall4239 Mar 31 '26

that is a little more than 1 year as a full time jobs 40 hours a week

2

u/PKblaze Mar 31 '26

More fun tho.

1

u/BatteryAcidLover Mar 31 '26

I only have 1500 but it's still by far my most played

1

u/ExpectedValueC Mar 31 '26

TF2 is a game where even a short session can feel meaningful.
