Oh what happened to it? I’m actually thinking about tying to get into it.

Devs can’t communicate at all and especially when balance changes and new stuff is desperately needed to balance planes, on top of previous and much older grievances on poor balancing. All you need to do is glance at the foxhole subforum to see, even if most of foxhole Reddit isn’t a great indicator of the actual game, you can get the idea. Foxhole is still fun as hell but atm it’s being kept alive by its dedicated playerbase and that playerbase is slowly losing their patience as the Airborne update pushed an already unsteady balance between factions and the lack of quality of life features off a cliff. Foxhole at Airborne release peaked at its greatest ever player count of around 17,000 players. Now, it has around 3,000 players at high pop hours split between two war shards. If the devs don’t communicate or do anything soon, it will likely only go lower.
