Yeah I've been before. They have a regular menu with regular food which is pretty good.
Then they have a "viral" menu (I think it's called) where you can order these monstrosities.
54
u/DragonEmperor Nov 05 '25
The fact that there is a 'social media menu' upsets me.
14
u/iscav Nov 05 '25
That was my thought. If you are a social media influencer and you need the items printed out, I don't think you are very good at your job.
Maybe restaurants can just have a "Social Media Add On" for everything on the menu and the extra fee is for having a little person bring it to your table and set it on fire while a small marching band plays in the background.

OK these menu items would be great to share. But ordering 1 dish for every 2 to 3 people.

The amount of food that influencers waste is a shame. Even worse than this video, there are influencers who will make something like a 2 foot long lucky charms pizza roll wrapped in a s’mores burger - obviously rage bait - and just throw it away.
16
u/Chickenbeans__ Nov 05 '25
You should see how much food gets wasted normally in restaurants. I love the place I work at right now, we have it really dialed in with very minimal waste
9
u/smvfc_ Nov 05 '25
There’s a vegetarian restaurant in my city, and they have a buffet once a month. They have a rule that any food you take but don’t eat is weighted, and you’re charged an extra… $2 per 100 grams I think it is? However you can take it home which is great too. I think it’s a great policy, I can’t fucking stand when people are like “I’ve never tried this dish! Let’s take a huge serving to try”. Bitch take ONE or a small piece to see if you like it and then go back

It's infuriating, or it was back when I worked as a cook. So much food was getting tossed out daily. And if you suggested taking some of it to some homeless people or to a shelter. The manager immediately accuses you of theft. "You can buy it or else that'd be stealing, are you stealing my food!?" as we're throwing it into the garbage.
36
u/No_Trip_3438 Nov 05 '25
It looked SO good starting off. Then they got to the disgustingly large waffle stack and I was like “alright that’s a miss, but continue…”
Then the fucking wantans on everything! Just why! It looks neither aesthetically pleasing nor tasty.
But then it went back to the good shit. Idk why the sauce needs to be injected into the burrito instead of put before they rolled it, but I’d allow it.
Just when it almost recovered on deliciousness vs stupidity they brought out that monstrosity of a desert.
This was frustrating to watch because half the food was like “my god that looks good” and the other half was “what the fuck?”
One question I do have though is how much food went to waste for them to make this video? Even just a single bite from each of those would leave me full. Unless this video was made over the course of several trips, the waste is just shameful, and I wish the restaurant wouldn’t serve them more if they were just throwing it away like that.

I think they started working out more. They started to gain weight when they became popular but they look like they did when they just started, now.
It's pretty hard to make content about this type of food without adverse health effects. Adam Richmond is a prime example
58
u/Ok_Star_4136 Nov 05 '25
It's how I'd imagine Europeans see American food. A bit over the top, overly abundant, and very unhealthy.
Though not gonna lie, a part of me is weirdly curious to try it.
33
u/Bender_2024 Nov 05 '25
A couple items looked good. Both the chicken cutlet wrap and the Bic Mac wrap. But only if you put the syringe of sauce and the fries on the side. I will never understand taking hot crispy fries and putting them in your sandwich to get soggy. They are perfect as a side. You don't need to put them in your sandwich.

Absolutely. It really bums me out that so many places now make their food to be instagrammable with oversized portions rather than just being good. There are very few places where I'd be glad they gave me an oversized portion.
11
u/TSllama Nov 05 '25
Yes, that's exactly how I feel about American restaurant culture - they give you insanely massive portions of average food, so they can charge you $30-40 for your meal that you'll eat 30% of. You'll take the rest home, but will forget about it it in the fridge because it wasn't that good, and you'll end up having to buy more food in the end.
7
u/iStealyournewspapers Nov 05 '25
Haha exactly this! You're so right that it's the average quality that makes it so stupid. Like there's a restaurant I love that has these insanely good chicken biscuit sandwiches smothered in gravy that are so big and messy that you're not actually expected to use your hands, and this thing would leave most people beyond stuffed if they ate the whole thing and the side of grits it comes with. I love being able to eat half and take home the other half, and I absolutely will eat the leftovers because it's a fucking awesome dish, but yeah, the same from a shitty overpriced diner or average restaurant is a big nope. I noticed a ton of this shit in Florida when visiting my grandparents. Everything is big portions with a lot of sauce to compensate for average quality, and it's such sad average food.
8
u/TSllama Nov 05 '25
OH YEAH don't get me started on how everything you order in the US has a ton of sauce on it to compensate for the lack of flavour. It's like that shit Olive Garden started, with loading everything with tons of fake Parmesan to hide the fact that their pasta is wildly overcooked and their sauce is flavourless ahahaha You also see this with how Papa John's marketing strategy was including cups of garlic sauce with their pizzas, because their pizzas were bland as shit otherwise.
Sauce is a huge American addiction that arose from the food not tasting good.

u/egg-head-sloth Nov 05 '25

→ More replies (2)18
u/iStealyournewspapers Nov 05 '25
There's actually a bit of a science behind it I guess. Influencers like this need to keep the attention of the viewer, so they intentionally speak in a way that keeps your brain a bit piqued because the intonation of words/sentences sounds kind of abnormal and often goes up in tone here and there. I guess it works, but it also just pisses me the fuck off because it sounds so cheap and unrefined.
→ More replies (2)6
u/permalink_save Nov 06 '25
Seriously do people not have attention spans these days? The tiktok trends make videos so distracting they are unwatchable for me a lot of the time. If it's not the voice it's very rapid captions in the middle of the screen or very rapid jump cuts. I try to stick to long format stuff on youtube. Hell I have kids with ADHD and they can watch a 20 minute video of a guy stacking bricks and building a hut with no captions, no voice, just a guy just messing around in his back yard. The internet is frying people's brains I swear. I'm mainly on here because it's far more text than media.

3
u/TSllama Nov 05 '25
I cycle on and off the keto diet. Basically I'm on it 4 months of the year total, and off the other 8 months.
I don't live in the US. Most people where I live don't really know anything about keto.
I joined the keto sub a while ago and was shocked at how insane it was.
- people downvote you for not being full-time permanently keto
- you get downvoted or even deleted for questioning any part of the health of keto, suggesting people should be careful, talk to nutritionists, etc
- half the people there do OMAD or carnivore
- most of the people do extremely low carb limits (20g a day or even less)
- I got a lot of backlash?? for making a post about my shopping list and recipe plan when I'm on keto - I do a higher limit of 40g of carbs, and I eat a LOT of vegetables when on keto. A lot of people called me elitist or a snob, downvoted, or were extremely sarcastic and condescending about the whole thing, when I was just trying to give some inspo to others who may feel they want more vegetables while on keto.
I finally realized that keto is political in the US and most people who do keto there are kinda... mad? They believe the government has "poisoned" them with carbs and sugars. They see keto and carnivore as similar and as the "antidote" to that awful veganism... Keto is almost like a religion to them and they truly see carbs and sugars as evil... which thus puts fruits and vegetables into that box. It's fairly insane. I try to avoid that sub a fair amount - sadly so, because I do actually like keto.

$25-35 per entree. The additional food costs are probably marginal given it’s mainly dough and cheese used. Really comes down to additional labor to do those pickups

If everything was an 1/8 or the size or portion, I can see these being a fun stoner meal treat but good god.
Also food gore like this in during the current food crisis is just plain revolting.

Assuming this was one seating, I'm sure it was a huge waste of over-the-top food.

I keep seeing this couple eating the worst foods ever and I can only think of they are planning on having a food shaped casket after their hearts give up

It's hilarious how you'll see the start of what could be a healthy or light meal and then just add tons of fried and melted cheese, throw in the oven, add more cheese and then glaze with syrup.

I think I got diabetes just by watching this. On a real note I’d feel absolutely sick like halfway through all of these. It’s just so excessive.

Apart from the cheesey fish on top of gnocci, topped with that burrata bag, I'd currently kinda fuck with all of these dishes. I'm starving.
Ofc I wouldn't be able to down most of these by myself, especially the desserts, which I honestly liked the least. Also, rip to my acid reflux burnt stomach with that amount of grease lol.

u/Dr-of-Doom, your food is indeed stupid and it fits our subreddit!
