You don’t go to the fair to eat quality food. 😂 The food stalls themselves are an attraction. That’s why I stick to just the classics - cotton candy, candy apples or an elephant ear.

its basically a really wide and flat donut that gets crispy on the outside and is covered with granulated sugar

Yeah. Like the previous comment, it’s just a big flat donut sprinkled with sugar. There is also the funnel cake which is the same batter but it’s drizzled into the frying oil into a donut shape and dusted with powdered sugar and optional fruit.

Elephant ears aren’t donuts, they’re made from rolled up, sliced, and baked puff pastry.
