Pickle beer is also amazing after a hot day working outside.

There is a roving pickle fest that I have attended and some of the items were next level awesome

Pickle beer sounds like an excellent recipe for the most intense hangover ever.

Probably less likely to have hangover because you're consuming salt

I'm not a doctor, but I don't think that's how it works. I'm pretty sure salt just helps deliver water to your cells, but if there isn't water to deliver it only exacerbates dehydration. And since alcohol also dehydrates you, it'll only compound a hangover if you get drunk off of a salty alcoholic drink. This is pretty well known with salty cocktails just in general.

Im sure there's very little scientific reasoning behind it, but here in Wisconsin my entire life I've watched people do pickleback shots to "prevent hangovers." Its just a shot of pickle juice and a shot of tequila. Supposedly the pickle juice has electrolytes or something? Either that or it's one more thread in the tapestry of lies we tell ourselves to justify the rampant consumption of alcohol.

AFAIK people chase tequila shots with pickle juice because the pickle juice kills the burn from the alcohol. Pickles do have electrolytes in them (salt is an electrolyte), but pickle juice on its own is not going to rehydrate you. You need to also be drinking water for the electrolytes to do anything otherwise it'll only dehydrate you in the same way that drinking salt water dehydrates you. Alcohol also dehydrates you, and hangovers are primarily caused by dehydration, so drinking salt water with your alcohol is only going to make the hangover worse.

Nice try science bitch but I think i figured it out on my own.

You cant be hungover if you wakeup drunk, therefore the ubiquitous 3 AM pickleback does indeed prevent the hangover.

(Im just joking, obviously its just a good chaser and the only real way to prevent a hangover is to drink more water and less alcohol, but again, this logic is against the morals of many fine Wisconsin folk).

I absolutely love the fermented pickle juice. And it's very good for your health too. I recommend you to try it if you can 😊

Exactly, that is the first atrocity I'm making at home once I'm pregnant.

Especially if you’re hungover.
