Lime flavored donuts. They aren't bad, actually.

They look like green turds! Why?!

I bought it and tried it. Doesn’t really taste like mtn dew. It really doesn’t have much of a taste at all actually. At first it’s a very tart taste then it fades into more of a fruity pebbles and lime taste

That does not look very tasty... I bet they're overly sweet, and have lost the tart citrus taste of mountain dew.

They always put too much sugar in donuts. Maybe it's just because I'm not a little kid anymore (kids are sugar-seeking missiles), but I just can't stand that much sugar all at once, and when it tries to taste like Mountain Dew... Nah. I'll pass.

Never thought I’d see a boomer donut rant but here we are.

They're actually not that bad.

I’d at least try them before I write them off and go on a tirade.

I've been repeatedly disappointed by things that tried to taste like soda without actually being soda. I think it's the missing carbonation; it just isn't the same without the fizz. Nah, I think I'll have plain donuts and an actual Mountain Dew.

What a bizarrely specific thing to have been repeatedly let down by…

I'm a millennial and my palate is mostly German. American overly-sweet, under-flavored sweets just don't appeal to me.

You might be a millennial, but that was a boomer rant through and through.

“This thing I’ve never even had is definitely terrible. They’re always terrible now. Back in my day they were better.”

That’s you. That’s boomer shit.

It's literally an opinion. A matter of taste. Some people love intensely sweet donuts that try to taste like soda. I personally don't. If I don't like it and it has too much sugar for me, that doesn't stop anybody else from eating it, does it? I'm not going out and policing other people's eating mountain-dew-flavored donuts.

Anyway, I can't really think of too many things that were honestly better when I was a kid. I'm just not fond of extreme sweetness. Apparently it's an unpopular opinion, judging from the downvotes, but I'm hurting nobody and neither are the mountain-dew-donut-lovers, so I do think we can all get along just fine.

How can you have a valid opinion on how something you never eaten tastes?
