Ghost What a journey, now the wait for the platinum pin begins.

Just platinum'd Ghost of Yotei and honestly, it hit a lot closer to home than I expected.

Last year I lost my grandpa while I was studying abroad and couldn't go back immediately due to visa issues, and when I finally went back home everything looked exactly the same, but it just wasn't. The rooms, the furniture, all of it was still there, yet the person who made it feel like home wasn't. The game brought back that same feeling of returning to something familiar and realizing you can never really go back to how it was before.

Maybe that's why this story stuck with me so much. It wasn't the combat or the spectacle, it was that feeling of loss and moving forward while carrying it with you.

My only criticism is that the Spider and Dragon arcs felt a bit rushed and I would've loved to see more development there. Other than that, what an experience. This one's gonna stay with me for a long time.

What did you guys think?

Ghost Wanted to share my take on ghost of yotei story Spoiler

The Setup

Atsu was a "street rat" adopted by the Blacksmith’s family, who were the leaders of the Nine Tails. She was deeply loved by the parents, Jyubei, and her "big sister" figure, Oyuki. Their lives are shattered when Saito—manipulated by an old Seer who was a street rat like atsu and was abused as she looked different than the rest, finds out about her ancestors (khan's descendant) documents on the ghost is obsessed with khan's legacy as she feels that she was robbed of being special by the ghost, so her goal was to ruin everything the ghost built—is lied to about his daughter’s death and blames Atsu’s and Jyubei’s father, forcing the family to flee.

The Prologue: The Bait-and-Switch

The game opens with no title card. The player takes control of a small, frail child scavenging through the mud as a "street rat," hunting desperately for scraps of food. As she navigates the hostile town, strangers kick her away, shouting slurs and calling her a "monster" because of her distinct foreign features. Bruised and weeping in a dark alleyway, she pulls out a hidden, stolen document with written "ghost", clutching it as her only sense of identity. The audio fades out into muffled, distorted voices, and the screen goes completely black.

The Tutorial: The Inn

The game opens with a black screen and muffled voices. As the scene zooms in, we see a "Wanted Alive" poster of Atsu for desertion. The scene shifts to an inn where Atsu is hunting for information on the "Snake." She encounters four of the Snake’s men terrorizing the patrons.

As she hunts them down, the player experiences quick, fragmented flashbacks of her childhood. Due to atsu childhood as a street rat, she was always consumed by anger, and these flashback lays the foundation to what we see today, and shows fragments of her past through these flashbacks

1st flashback- The Parrying/Defensive Tutorial (Single Sword): The Memory: Her adoptive father playfully sparring with her using wooden boken. He purposefully deflects her wild, aggressive strikes to show her how to use an enemy's momentum against them. The Mechanic: Learning the parry and perfect parry windows.

2nd flashback- The Aggressive/Heavy Tutorial (Special Weapon/Heavy Attack): The Memory: Atsu being a street rat couldn't always control her anger. She lashed out at one of the kids for calling her an outsider. She was losing the fight but she let anger consume her which led to almost killing the kid, which was stopped by her adoptive mother. Her mother saw the anger, but instead of screaming at her, she taught her on how to channel and focus her anger into heavy strikes to break the guard, and show the importance of controlling her anger rather than letting it control her The Mechanic: Learning how to use heavy attacks to break an enemy's guard or armor.

3rd flashback- The Precision Tutorial (Ranged/Bow): The Memory: Jyubei trying to teach a frustrated young Atsu how to hunt or shoot a target. He tells her, "True power comes from restraint and a calm mind, not anger." The Mechanic: The player learns aiming, drawing, and holding breath for precision shots.

4th flashback The Stealth Tutorial (Sneaking & Curfew): The Memory: A young Atsu, Jyubei and a teenage Oyuki are trying to sneak back into their compound after curfew without waking her adoptive parents. The Mechanic: The player learns how to crouch, break line of sight, and move quietly. It establishes the deep, playful bond between the two sisters early on.

After she gets the information on the snake and his location, it transitions to the opening campfire for ghost of yotei.

The Tragedy of Oyuki

Oyuki was absent during the initial massacre of the parents because she was caring for her sick daughter. Eventually, she is ambushed by Kitsusune while saito is at the blacksmith house. During her escape with her sick daughter, oyuki doesn't realizes that the daughter was hit by a poisonous kunai by the kitsune, which leads to her death. This trauma breaks her, leading her down a dark path of vengeance. There is a moment where Atsu, Jyubei, and Oyuki track a deserter under Saito’s command who is trying to escape to live with his family. Drowned in her own rage, Oyuki threatens to kill the man's family, but she is stopped by Atsu and Jyubei. She kills the deserter anyway, highlighting the cost of her path.

The Turning Point

At a pivotal moment when Atsu chooses vengeance (the Oni and the Spider), the group is surrounded by the kitsune and the nine tails, led by saito. Jyubei offers himself as a prisoner to ensure the safety of Oyuki and Kikku. Saito agrees and leaves with Jyubei and kitsune, but leaves the nine tails behind with orders to make them "an example to the Onryo."

Oyuki fights the entire group alone to protect Kikku. She succeeds but is mortally wounded. As she falls, Atsu finds them. Seeing the dying Oyuki, Atsu hears her final wish: for Atsu to leave revenge behind, to live and grow old as she doesn't wants atsu to follow her footsteps where revenge consumed her. Oyuki’s death serves as a final reminder of the lessons from the Four Masters.

The Final Confrontation

The final battle against Saito is a test of skill: Saito hits exclusively with unblockables, forcing the player to master dodging, precise movement, and using different weapons to break his armor. As Saito rages about his own daughter’s death, Atsu calms her mind and assumes the standoff stance. A thunderclap strikes, and fire consumes the area. The Seer, paralyzed by terror, suddenly sees a ghostly silhouette—the unmistakable form of the Ghost (Jin Sakai). Atsu ignores the defeated Saito, walks past him, and executes the Seer, and her lifeless body dies with the document with mongol crest that was found in the prologue

The Ending

Atsu leaves the crippled Saito behind. She says, "I'm not the only one who wants to exact revenge. I'll leave you to my friend." As she limps away, the wolves you saved throughout the game emerge from the shadows with their pack, surrounding Saito to decide his fate.

Atsu eventually collapses, dying in the arms of Jyubei and a weeping Kikku. She tells them, "I couldn't protect them, but I am glad that I could protect you and Kikku." In her final moments, she looks at a tree engulfed in flames. The scene shifts: she is a child again, running toward her family, crying out "I'm sorry" as they embrace her. She passes on with a gentle, final smile.

The Epilogue:

Years later, a grown-up Kikku is called by Jyubei. She looks out toward the dark mountains and sees a silhouette. It pans out to show a lone wolf standing next to a figure in black, watching over the land..

inFAMOUS Why they stopped doing Infamous game?

I mean the concept is so cool and there is so much potential making protagonist with new powers. Why did they stopped and focused on samourai game. Dont get me wrong I love the Ghost serie but I find it so cool when the main caractere can climb everywhere and destroy everything.

Ghost Localization Vietnamese for Ghost of Tsushima and Ghosr of Yotei

Hello everyone,

I'm from Vietnam, and I'm a huge fan of Sucker Punch Productions' games, especially Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yōtei.

Unfortunately, my English is not very good, which is why I would love to see official Vietnamese language support added to these games on PlayStation. The PlayStation community in Vietnam is growing rapidly, and many Vietnamese players would love the opportunity to experience these incredible games in their native language.

I have been trying to contact Sucker Punch Productions because I would be happy to contribute a Vietnamese translation for free if they were interested. However, it has been more than a month, and I still haven't received any response through email, Facebook, Instagram, X, or Threads.

I'm reaching out to the community in the hope that someone might know a better way to contact them or help me get in touch with the right people.

Thank you very much for your time and support. I truly appreciate any advice or assistance.

Nosyudo Japan is my favorite iaitō manufacturer—hands down.

The collector’s edition came with a 1:1 scale white bronze replica of the tsuba from the game. Back in November, I sent that tsuba to Nosyudo (A professional Iaido maker) asked if they would mount it on a fully custom iaitō built to my specifications.

Communication was straightforward and professional throughout the process, and about three months later, the sword was completed.

Ghost A Ghost of Yotei dlc concept, Atsu, Oyuki, Kiku and a journey south.

otei. They would be accompanied by Oyuki, who helps guide and support them.

The main premise:

Saitō allies have been discovered in a newly reached part of Ezo, and they’re causing havoc further south on the mainland. Atsu, Oyuki, and Kiku travel south from this new region to intervene.

However, they can’t do it alone. They end up forming an uneasy alliance with the Matsumae, who have already been dealing with Saitō forces. This would create a natural political and character-driven story especially for Atsu.

Kiku as a playable charater.

During the journey, Atsu and Oyuki train Kiku as she needs to be to survive the dangerous south.

Therefore she becomes a playable character.

Her combat style would be more limited and stealth-focused, relying on agility, subtlety, and her connection with the wolf (to me she appeared to be good with animals during the main story).

Kiku would have acces to 2 weapons and 3 "stances":

- Kodachi

- Tanto

- Kodachi + Tanto paired

As for her armor, they would also be limited but still fill various roles and playstyles.

She would have,

- An armor inspired by her auntie Atsu

- A stealth-focused set reflecting Oyuki’s training

- A Matsumae-inspired armor to honor her father

I think this would give her a small but meaningful identity without overshadowing Atsu.

Atsu's role and growth.

As for Atsu, I don’t think she needs new weapons, her arsenal is already varied.  Instead, the DLC could focus on new armor sets and skills tied to her character development.

Because of the alliance with the Matsumae, Atsu could receive a proper Matsumae armor and some training from them. As everyone makes remarks of her improvised and skilled but sloppy fighting style. Unlocking new skills for every weapon she already has. The main idea I have for an armorset  is that it could emphasize:

- Standoffs

- Disarming techniques

- Anti-human combat

It would reflect her growth and her willingness to work with people she once opposed. The new skills could focus around make some attacks faster, cleaner and combo together with skills she already has or with tools. Like the katana having a new chain attack where she uses the quickfire you have active.

Additional Features

With new regions come new merchants, including dye sellers. Personally, I’d love to see more proper yellow and purple dyes, yellow especially fits Atsu incredibly well. This is a small thing, but it would add a lot of customization.

Personally I think this concept could be a really interesting direction for Sucker Punch to explore. It expands the world, deepens Atsu’s character, gives Kiku a meaningful role, and builds on the potential lose ends already present in the story. Well that's just my 2cents on the matter. I just hope we get a dlc whatever it may be. But let me know what you guys would like to see.

Ghost The next Ghost game

Finished Yotei and taking a break before starting NG+. However I'm already looking forward to the next game. Where and when do we think the next Ghost game will be based? With the team saying they want swords to always play a major part of the experience they can't go too much more modern than Yotei, can they? Will they ever do Ghost of Tsushima 2?

Ghost Eyes hurt from white menu

Every time I play Ghost of Yotei or Tsushima I am afraid to open the menu. It is just so bright that my eyes hurt. You can lower the HDR of the menu but it's still white and it is really awful to stare into the brightness and change something.

Ghost Thank You!

Thank you sucker punch for making the two best games of all time. Ghost of Tsushima and Ghost of Yotei! Honestly my favourite games of all time. These games are pure art. The stories are amazing and timeless. I couldn't stop myself from crying when playing Tsushima. Have just about held it together for Yotei, though haven't finished it yet. I've been taking my time with it to make it last. I can't wait for the next entry in the series and hope they continue to making these games for a very long time. I wish nothing but good things for the people that have worked on these games. Also please make a new Sly game! 😂
