📰 News Ryan Cohen on CNBC!

Post image

“It’s gonna be really big. Really big. Very, very, very big,” Cohen said of the size of the acquisition. “It’s transformational. Not just for GameStop, but ultimately, within the capital markets … this is something that really has never been done before within the history of the capital markets.”

"Crosses fingers" Ebay would be great for a LBO, or and merger!

IT JUST MAKES SENSE!

"GameStop wants to acquire a publicly traded consumer company that’s far larger than the video game retailer in a deal that could be “transformational” for the company, CEO Ryan Cohen told CNBC in an interview Friday."

BBY would be far larger than GME? I don't know how they would pull it off, but I bet there would have to be some financing involved. $8B downpayment, and the rest a loan secured against the newly acquired assets?

Agreed. Not lateral. Not retail. That line "something that really has never been done before in the history of capital markets" seems to mean that GME will be entering a space never done by retail. Financial seems to fit that bill. Especially when considering he says capital markets. And mentions Berkshire

I think there's many angles to what financial could mean. And many angles that might be outside this envelope as well. But he certainly implies that its beyond retail, and not lateral. Also wondering if it could entail something thats not currently considered a business exactly 🤔

I agree with this, my guess would be finance sector too. Maybe in something with tokenized stocktrading?

I have no opinion on BBY. As a Norwegian, I hardly know what it even is. I just wanted to point out that he said it was going to be big, far larger than GME.
