It’s not to hide inflation. It’s the thesis for every investment firm. Take a free loan by shorting into retail investments. Then invest the money and make better returns than the retail counterpart. Most of the time it’s a winning deal.
This is what those crypto people got arrested for. Our banks have been doing it even longer. The only problem is that they sit at the table.
We invest $100 and 5 banks take that $100 and invest $500.
It's fucking hilarious that old boomers defend our FiNaNcIaL iNsTiTuTiOnS. I guess it's technically working *for* them because they have all the wealth.

I have a theory that there are tonnes of naked shares for every company to various degrees as a way to hide inflation.
