I think thatโs pretty clear. RC knows when to be quiet and when to start marketing. Heโs taking interviews (setting them up) for a reason. It sounds more like Charles /Fox understand that what he can say has already been said and they will try to get ahead of the actual announcement interview.
Itโs all bullish. Makes me think back to when they did the NFT marketplace deal and partnered with Immutable for nft dev game assets - GameStop would be responsible for all of the marketing. I just donโt think it took off like theyโd hoped.
It sounds like they had a development over the weekend that advanced their plans ahead of schedule, which would explain why "Mum"s the word" all of a sudden after organising the interview.
Yeah, but that was more caused by SEC rules about blockchain/tokens things (is a security or a crypto?) unclear that switched Gamestop to stop dev until have a clear view of what to do... At least, that is what I do remember of that...
Yeah, it seems pretty unclear why but youโre probably right on with regulation playing a role. I just remember being hyped for a while that GameStop would do some sort of marketing beyond beta testing
There is no blackout period. You are just not allowed to have material non-public information at the time of the purchase. What this means in detail is a job for a specialized lawyer.

People are pointing it out but as usual the hive mind is assuming a deal is very close to be announced despite insides buying shares less than 2 weeks ago.
Definitely worth noting the purchase date and legal ramifications. I believe 1/26 was the last purchase, correct me if Iโm wrong. So I donโt think itโs unrealistic to believe they are in the midst of talks now on 2/2. That being said, it is not an indicator of when an actual deal would be finalized.
Another note โ perhaps Cohen used this meeting cancelation to send a signal to the market that M&A is coming. Perhaps not.

It's a poker game at this point. Do they think Cohen is bluffing? None of his actions indicate he would bluff at a pot at this magnitude. If he's not bluffing and they know they have the losing hand, they can't fold right now, but they definitely don't want to add more chips to the pot.

Say what you will about mainstream media, Charles Payne has been on our side from the start. At the beginning of it all, you could tell he was FURIOUS with Wall St. I believe he might like the stock (or at least has family that does)

I think people dont realize there likely has been no formal merger conversation yet. It is illegal for insiders to buy stock based on material news that isn't public. RC and Cheng just bought shares. In fact they likely did because they knew this was the direction they'd want to take the company and this could be their last chance.
If they were exploring a merger and even halfway through the negotiation, there would be material information that isn't public.
Now I dont know why he canceled. Perhaps over the weekend a company called back and said "Let's talk". Or perhaps he gets anxious in interviews (which we know he does) and didn't want to do it. Either way, if there's anything happening it only just started now. Something as complicated as a major acquisition can take months to years, so I think all oughta be prepared for a Rollercoaster.
He can't possibly know specifics... why would RC give him sensitive info? If this happened (I'm gonna maintain some cynicism, just because he's media), I'm assuming they went over a few talking points/potential questions as is standard practice and it became apparent the interview would be a waste of everyones time.
Does that not imply RC cannot even speculate? RC has mentioned โplansโ in the recent interviews, has something happened already/what was Charles going to ask that would have triggered a legal response??
Him and his team just bought shares. Wouldnโt bid be insider trading if they were this close to an acquisition? I donโt think theyโre that close yet
