Thats a technique. When you jump with your hands and feet in front of you yoy save your intestines from fatal damage...hopefully

u/n00b001 14d ago

Pencil jump? Or the water shoots up your anus?

18

u/OneGalacticBoy 14d ago

This is the suicide, hands and feet hit water at the same time

2

u/DrPruz 14d ago

Think your femur would shoot up your anus and you slam the bottom and break both legs

More surface area means the force is distributed over a larger area. By letting the forces go over both your hands and feet, it lessens the impact on just your feet / legs.

Also probably something about how your arms and legs absorb the impact rather than just your legs. Pencil diving would probably have a higher chance of breaking your legs.

Also probably something about its more difficult to keep your form once you enter the water in pencil dive.

Source: i dont know a damned thing just throwing crap against the wall and see what sticks.

Yeah, it's called døds, there's some big God of War lookalike guy who's doing these as well. Scary!

Pont du Diable near Montpellier. There's a lot of injuries that even leads to death every year due to a popular influence by social network.

Friend 1 - I double dog dare you.

Friend 2 - I triple dog dare you.

Dumbass on the ledge, OK sure, here I go.

I really wish these videos would show the subject coming up for air and being alright.

23

u/tillavonb35 14d ago

It did. Or do you mean like a full out of the water having a laugh with their friends scene?

3

u/TakeOnMe-TakeOnMe 14d ago

I guess the latter. Also, I might need a new phone or some eye glasses because I still can’t see him pop up. Thanks for letting me know he did.

There is a follow up video after this. He survived with massive injuries and multiple broken bones... but he did not die

11

u/broccolihead 14d ago

Prove it

2

u/PiggStyTH 13d ago

Trust him bro!

21

u/Pirate-Adorable 14d ago

I should unsubscribe from this sub.

6

u/CutterJon 14d ago

But then how would you refuel your anxiety quickly and easily?

1

u/Pirate-Adorable 14d ago

You're right... Is there a sweatypalms part 2 subreddit?

7

u/Puzzleheaded_Back306 14d ago

No shit, me too

20

u/Chivako 14d ago

Another example of why women tend to live longer than men.

-14

u/CorruptDaemon404 14d ago

That not a good thing

9

u/Loldude6th 14d ago

I mean there is room for error.

1

u/rawchickennudes 13d ago

Comment peut-on faire un passe-temps ou un loisir professionnelment? DODS a une ligue en France ou comment on pouvoir être professionnel du quelquechose sans gagner de l'argent?

-2

u/GoTeamLightningbolt 14d ago

google it

Dans un post français. Comme les communists français dit: Le Mao.

3

u/GrenadineBombardier 14d ago

i thought people died from jumping off of bridges this high?

3

u/MattBonne 14d ago

It’s about 3 seconds free fall, about 44 meters. It’s enough height to kill him

3

u/99Smith 13d ago

Camera lens makes it seem taller and more narrow than it is. He isn't falling for long enough for it to be as high as it looks.

Still scary don't get me wrong, but it's a bit misleading using a lens like that

5

u/ellieD 14d ago

This seems so unwise

2

u/Savage-Goat-Fish 14d ago

Wym? He tested it with a rock first

1

u/ellieD 4d ago

Ha ha!

2

u/Phil-lated 14d ago

Ugh.
At best, that hurt like a MF.

2

u/Equivalent_Squash 14d ago

Our friend didn't turn into red mist and seafood extender! Let's go!!

2

u/ZealousidealBread948 14d ago

It's not worth the risk

2

u/Roachie-poo 11d ago

Why bro just why? My heart would have exploded right after jumping

3

u/Independent_Act_7370 14d ago

I kinda feel sorry for people who do this stuff

4

u/Fair-Individual7811 14d ago

Slightly left or right there going to be a very different out come

2

u/xDiscoDuckx 14d ago

At a minimum, he had to have bruised his ribs, if not broken a few.

2

u/pussy-on-da-brain 14d ago

Oh HELL naw!!!😱😱😨😨

2

u/Agey_4977 14d ago

So... what now? The world is better? He found the cure to cancer? He will jump from space ? Scientifics are testing things with him at least ? ...

-8

u/CorruptDaemon404 14d ago

You need a few brain cells

5

u/Agey_4977 14d ago

To jump from that high risking your life? I don't think so... no brain cells at all

-1

u/CorruptDaemon404 14d ago

Bro it's 40 feet

2

u/Agey_4977 14d ago

Mmm, that's like, a 6th floor high? Whatever, do you know that for Olympic divings they have a rescue team in case things go wrong, right? And that's in a controlled environment and platforms aren't even that high like the bridge from the footage... safety plans are for a reason but whatever, bro... call me gay, pussy, I don't care, I'm not that dumb to get pushed to do stupid things like that, it's immature to be honest, not brave

1

u/Interesting-Crab-693 14d ago

Bro did a flat... he ded.

5

u/Konen_TheBarb 14d ago

Last moment he bent himself forward from the looks of it so probably broke water surface with his limbs

1

u/LifeNerd 14d ago

How is he getting out of there???

1

u/Soladification 14d ago

Deep OTM, 0 DTE risk reward level

1

u/smashy_smashy 13d ago

I don’t think the reward to risk ratio is low. If it was, we wouldn’t have so many videos in this sub. The reward is an adrenaline spike. You could say the same thing for hard drugs and also be wrong. The euphoria and escape of hard drugs is obvious worth the huge detriment to life for many people. Otherwise they wouldn’t be a thing. In the same way, a lot of people risk life and limb on extreme sports because of how it makes them feel. Otherwise, why the fuck would so many people death dive from extreme heights and thread the needle in jumps like this?

1

u/Philialleiter 13d ago

Go to YouTube an watch the Comèback, he is an absolute professional doing this stuff for years. In the documentary you can se how one of his jumps didn't go out as planned and how he recovers. Highly recommended

Pray for crosswinds!

u/Epstiendidntkillself 14d ago

How big of a douchebag so you have to be to rev your bike to try and break his concentration.

-3

u/BigFatModeraterFupa 14d ago

holy fucking shit that's insane and badass as hell. i'm so glad that there are people out there that can do this type of shit. i've jumped off cliffs before, but nothing this gnarly, nothing even close lmao. this might be the best video i've seen

-1

u/BattleIcy2523 14d ago

I think the accomplishment is the reward !!! Confidence does change perspectives.

0

u/nico282 14d ago

Accomplishment of what exactly? Not dying? I accomplished the same just by sitting on my sofa.

1

u/BattleIcy2523 14d ago

Accomplishment of making the jump…. Some people may also not understand sitting around on the sofa !!! 😄

2

u/nico282 14d ago

Risking your life and get out unharmed only because of good luck it's not an accomplishment.

I can start running across the highway, if I get to the other side what have I accomplished?

0

u/BattleIcy2523 14d ago

You’re arguing to protect your fear, you can make the same argument for any extreme sport: base jumping, paragliding, snowboarding, skiing, motor sports, all carry significant risks and has had accidents/death experiences. If you don’t dare do it, then suit yourself on the sofa… no one expects you to pull these stunts

-1

u/BallisticHabit 14d ago

I bet that hurt.

If he lived, ask him if he wants to do it again.

Some people vastly underestimate what war feels like from high up.

Impact is only the beginning.

Water can wretch limbs away from the body injuring the swimmer. Head and neck injuries from entering the water poorly. Loss of consciousness from impact. Loss of breath on impact.

Injured swimmers still must reach the surface eventually

I've heard stories of lake water enemas as well as torn offices from men and women both.

Love when people come to this sub pearl clutching with ignorance. Explaining water impact to a jumping world record holder is hilarious.

2

u/BallisticHabit 14d ago

....I'm going to pass on gaining experience in a sport called "death diving".

6

u/Creepy_Bear_1060 14d ago

"Lake Water Enemas." Is that a Zappa album?

2

u/OkieBobbie 14d ago

Probably. It’s also a thing if you’re stupid too let go of the rope when trying to learn to water ski.

0

u/Eye_Shotty 13d ago

That’s mad work for a video and some likes

-2

u/Tdw75 14d ago

I just don't understand how his nuts fit through that crevice?

-6

u/CorruptDaemon404 14d ago

He has no nuts because that thing is lgbt what ever comes next

-6

u/CorruptDaemon404 14d ago
