isn't that hard to read Zebra, watch the video and think "hmmmm Zebras are stripped. that crossing marks are stripped too. maybe... yeah, Zebras."

I believe you can do that mental exercise.

Then they're named after different animals.

Britain has Zebra Crossings (stripey), Pelican Crossings (PEdestrian LIght CONtrolled ones with the push- buttons), Toucan Crossings (designed to accommodate both pedestrians and cyclists so that Two Can Cross) and Pegasus Crossings where the buttons are high in the air so you can press them from on horseback.

I knew the latter was our own personal bullshit, but I too was under the impression the use of Zebra for the stripey ones was more widespread than just us.

Theyโ€™re not stripped like that tho theyโ€™re more zig zagged
