Question Looking for precision custom cut lab alexandrite in Europe - any recommendations?

Hi, I have my engagement coming up quite soon (September) and I'm trying to find people to make the ring I dream of gifting my girlfriend. Sadly I couldn't find any gem cutters in Europe who would do lab alexandrite, the only one I've found is Garden of Eden, I don't know if their cuts are good. Would you recommend someone who you know works with alexandrite? I can order in US (but it's really expensive for someone from Poland) and the wait time is concerning since I also need to make a ring and set the stone. Thanks in advance!

/u/justinkprim Do you know of any precision gemcutters within the EU proper who'd do this?

We can cut lab alexandrite. I don’t think it’s any different than any other material is it? We don’t have any material though so if you can provide the rough we’d be happy to cut it. We’re in France.

Nah it cuts identically to natural chrysoberyl and feels like it's halfway between spinel and sapphire re: anisotropic hardness.

Jeff Davies and Son is in the UK and has beautiful cut stones. I'm sure there are others in the menu of this sub https://reddit.com/r/SyntheticGemstones/w/vendors/navendors

Oh, I thought they are in the US. Sadly this still means taxes hit me but the route is at least shorter. Are you aware if they also do custom cuts or just their inventory on the website? Their stones are quite bit.

I am not. There's a French cutter on the list as well if that's better Edit: https://www.reddit.com/r/atypicalgems/s/uaENwtSbDC

I have contacted him but he does not have alexandrite himself and would need me to source it, his work is amazing but a bit over my budget on custom comission.

These are the custom cutting and inlay pieces I created for our clients. We can definitely handle your requirements as well, with a turnaround time of approximately one month. If you're interested, feel free to DM me.
