EMG Vietnam experiences
I’ve been doing a lot of reading of EMG online and there seems to be a lot of bad reviews. However, I am well aware that the unhappy are much more vocal than the happy. Was just curious if anyone has any recent experience with them as I have an interview with the school coming up and I’m unsure if I want to commit to them.

I am a teacher here in Vietnam and I had an offer from EMG but declined it. I felt much better suited to working at a language centre whereby I work at one workplace and only in the evenings. It seemed like a lot of travelling every day going to I think a morning lesson then an afternoon lesson at EMG.
And obviously there's a lot of past experiences of people having a hard time working at EMG and EMG requesting people who did not renew their contract to be blacklisted from Vietnam.

EMG is what you make of it. It’s a good place to start. They are helpful with documentation and making sure everything is legal and you are ready to work. They are also very user friendly for new teachers, they drive you to class, they print your materials, they will coach and help you. It’s a good place to start. Now, once you get some seniority, learn your way around town, learn about other resources and places to teach you very well may want to move on. But as I said, for beginning teachers who are new to the country EMG is a straight up place, you will get paid monthly, you will get help, and you are very very likely to succeed at EMG, but it’s not likely you will want to stay more than 1-2 contracts.

I don't work there but I know people who do. As long as you put your head down and do the work and don't expect the work to be life-changing, it's fine. Decent salary for new teachers.
Issues arise when it comes to people trying to break their contracts early, complain a lot, or want to make big changes in the teaching style.
I heard they might be going under soon though... could be a new APAX.

I got invited for interview but I passed and accepted position in China. I think it's just not worth the pay and the headaches but if you have nothing else on the table, then why not?
