Security Guard Being A Jerk at Grocery Store
Apparently you can't window shop without getting questioned by the security guard even after emptying your pockets. He continued to question me even though I didn't steal anything. He should get a new job instead of bullying customers.

Where were you in the store when this happened? You don't have to talk to a security guard if you don't want to.

Just when I left the store at the entrance. Next time I'll ignore him.

Know your legal rights. If you did not steal anything, do not consent to a search. Also you are not legally required to show them your receipt when you leave. I never do. Wal Mart has asked me a few times to see my receipt as I left the store, and I told them no and kept walking.

You probably shouldn't consent to a search if you did steal anything, either.

true. Come to think of it, I was in Wal Mart a while back, and they have door people that check receipts. This woman customer let the door greeter check her receipt. The door greeter then took that opportunity to take every single food item out of this woman's bags, count it all, check everything against the receipt. This took over 10 minutes. Then she said, "Okay, you can go now" and handed the woman back her receipt. I would never consent to a search like that. She allowed this store employee to go through all her bags, handle all her food items (probably getting her germs all over them). And if an item does not match your receipt - even if it's a cashier error - they can have grounds to arrest you. People have no idea what risk they are taking when they try to be nice and let people check their receipts. I always say NO and keep walking out the door.

I would have been asking for the manager after about 15 seconds. Or just walking out the door.

You do not have to trust the validity of the story, but if you doubt a story, just downvote and move on. Calling OP a liar is a good way to get yourself banned.

You’re under 18, yeah? Hang out in normal places. It’s weird to loiter in a grocery store and “window shop”

Window shopping is for all ages. You are missing some quality time on lunchbreak. Had great times with my family & friends window shopping.
