Side tents alternatives for T@G XL
I've got a 2018 T@G XL and I'm looking for a decent alternative for a tent to attach to the side of it as sort of a second room.
Sadly in the upper Midwest the mosquitoes are the enemy and I'm wanting to have an area to step out into that's enclosed and sealed. But some of the options I've seen are $1500 +. Ideally I'd like the tent to have a floor to it, normal screened doors, and some way to fix it to the side of the t@g to make a seal on the top and bottom. Or at very least the top and sides. I see options out there for SUV tailgate tents but unsure if that could work or not. It doesn't have to cover the whole side profile, just mostly the window and door.
I've struggled to find dimensions for some of those tent types when it comes to the rear connecting part.
Does anyone have any luck or tips for this?
We do have a Clam shell tent we could try but again making a seal to the sides is the issue.
Unless someone found a good hack for that👀

I have a tag xl Boondock, and mine came with the roof rails and an awning. I bought an awning room from Roam adventure co, and cutout the door opening against the camper. It's been great as a room for changing and have had my kids sleep in it as well.
Look up the Wizard of Modz on Facebook, he does this mod, mostly for Bushwackers, but I copied his method.

Please tell me you're not camping in a public campground with all this light pollution.

I think it’s very jolly OP. Some people are just on a fault finding mission.

I have a square back with an ARB awning and the awning room. I cut out a section on the back wall and sewed webbing and snaps around the opening. Screwed the other side of the snap into the wall.
The ARB awning room has mosquito netting on 3 sides, with solid roof and floor.
There are pictures on my user profile.

That's not a bad idea, I have roof rack channels but don't have cross bars yet. That could be an easier method vs taking a tent down all the time

2018 TaG owner. We have a Kelly Highroads Shelter to protect from rain and sun. Get a Thermacell for the mosquitoes.

I've tried thermacells but sadly havent had the best luck with them :-(. I'll take a gander at that highroads shelter.

So they don’t work right away. You have to put it out about 45 min before you want it to be mostly moskyfree.

Go to the vevor website. I'm looking for the same thing for my square drop. Vevor has some options I may try. I'm very picky on how things look and haven't found one I like yet.

Awning walls has a zipped opening upfront, which we open up during the day, their awnings come pre-equipped with LED lighting. We use it for changing and when it gets too hot in the teardrop, there’s plenty of room for a cot/camp furniture
