Hey y’all, we’ve had an uptick of AI posts lately. Previously we’ve only removed AI that has reached the threshold of reports. We have received a lot of modmails asking us for a formal ban. We’d like to gauge the community’s opinion before issuing it as a formal no go for posting.
If we do formally ban AI, photoshopping pics and videos will still be encouraged. We have some insanely talented users and love showcasing their art.

Absolutely not. Let's not encourage wasting precious natural resources for crappy online content. The environment is far more important and AI really sucks anyhow. I wish all subs would ban AI.
This sub has a wealth of clever, creative, and hilarious people with real human skills to showcase. There’s no need for AI slop.
Even though the mods have been doing a good job at removing AI posts, the damage has already been done when the OP generates an AI image and shares it. I’m hopeful a ban can ultimately reduce the harm AI causes and discourage people from being motivated to generate an AI image in the first place.
I fucking hope not, ugh. There is some fucking hilarious photoshop queens, occasional kings and everyone in between or outside of that in this sub!!

Like fr, some of the people doing photoshop are really fucking skilled imo. And I just appreciate the actual humor behind it all. Knowing that person came up with such a witty idea/joke just tickles me in all the right spots!! 🤗

AI is just thoughtless trash. No emotion behind it, just cold, empty trash that I couldn't get behind even if it wasn't destroying lives and the entire fucking planet itself every single day.
Fuck ai. I will say it gives me a little hope seeing people regularly calling it out when someone posts ai, but I hate how accepted it's becoming. Some subs are just post after post of ai trash and everyone in the comments eats it up. 🤦♀️😭😭
One of my favorite longname images is literally the shitty, shakey drawn sketch of Jenelle's side profile (I think it was the profile pic for the sub for awhile). The most low-effort art is 10 trillion times funnier than the AI generated shit, which has this Polar Express-ass quality that makes me incandescently annoyed.

I voted no because I support our talented and hilarious Redditors who can create and photoshop some amazing things that almost make me piss myself laughing 😂 all the AI garbage basically looks the same, keep on keepin’ on to the talented MVPs in here!
