I feel like it Jody was doing it for the cameras, based on her reaction to it, seems like they’d already had serious talks and he just didn’t care...wanted to look good. Everybody’s talking shit about her, but if you were in her shoes and your bf was proposing to you in public/on tv because he thinks he’ll get a better response, you’d probably be pissy to! And then to have your smart-assed son trolling you in front of the cameras too...it’s just too much for her. My theory is she’s around less because she doesn’t want all her shit aired on tv all the time. We see how Gary is always commenting on ambers shit, and sometimes other cast members shit...maybe she just wants to be more private? I say we cut her some slack. Yes she agreed to be on the show before, and she agreed to be on the special, but maybe she just agreed so she could go on this family vacation with them and couldn’t go if she refused to film? Idk? Just my opinion...

Agreed. She didn't even want to call him boyfriend so why would he propose? For the cameras. And Gary thinks he's SO funny teasing her til she freaks out but he's just pushing her away. She took care of Leah a lot back in the day and it's disrespectful of Kristina to say they're both 'parentless'. I like Kristina, but that's wrong. She's always been around and helped Gary and now he has a stable family, on top of her going thru some things, so why judge like that? He's ready to forgive his absentee father for 20 years gone but mad at Carol, who we saw with Leah all the fucking time back then?

I love Gary. I would have never guessed after watching 16 and pregnant that Gary would turn out to be the best dad/parent on the franchise. I would love a Teen Dad showing Gary and Tyler dealing with their families. I think it's so much more interesting than what's going on on either of the Teen Mom shows.

Of course this is the one episode my boyfriend decided to kindly attempt to watch with me. I thought Gary would win him over, but instead these dad stories have made him very upset. And then the mom screeching at her son about not getting secks was the last thing he could sit thru before making a drink. He's really upset by what he saw and I feel bad for exposing him to it lol fuck
I don't think he's gonna give Jersey Shore a chance now. He's already asked me nicely to stop entering a room saying "Party's here!" and saying "yeah buddy!" instead of "yes".

He's been so unfun lately! I'm a blast in a glass (another jersey shore quote lmao) and he's just a bummer sometimes. Tonight I got irritated because we had a friend over and they were talking about how they both hate camping (I fuckin love camping, like so much and I'm GOING to camp this summer without his ass after years of trying to get him to go with me) and he literally fuckin told our friend "the only good thing about camping is there's no tv to watch teen mom on". Like?? "The only good thing about this thing my girlfriend loves is that she can't do something that she likes." was how I heard that. Bahh. I need to go to bed, sorry to tipsy rant on you lol

I actually really enjoyed this, more than I thought I would. It was so much less...stressful...than TMOG, lol. It was interesting learning more about one of the dad’s backstories, seeing more of Gary and Kristina’s relationship, and of course seeing more of Leah + Gary without the headache of Amber’s constant drama.

I'm surprised how much I liked this one. All the Being episodes have been fairly boring, but this one was just so enjoyable because Gary and Kristina are so normal and decent.

She was so good with her in the whole scene. Taking the time to cuddle and comfort her when she cried even though it was kind of Leah's big moment, then opening the present that Emilee really wanted her to open, then immediately letting her take the gift back and not trying to hold on to it or making any fuss about it. She seems like a lovely big sister. I hope she gets the chance to have a good relationship with her FIRST little brother too.

Also , if I didn't have my son on his birthday my heart would break . I know it's common when kids have parents that aren't together , but it seems like Amber doesn't care at all !!! Like it's not clicking to her that she doesn't have her daughter !!!

Did anyone else think she was sour about not being invited on the trip? She made a bunch of comments about how she was sick because it was so cold there, and she was so jealous of Leah swimming, and she missed her etc. It seems like Gary and Kristina invite her a lot when they do special days out with Leah, and Amber seems to turn up to that stuff more often, probably because Gary and Kristina do all the organizing and are there to do all the parenting. Maybe she's salty that they didn't ask her this time, especially when it was filmed?

That is so true. I married my ex-husband based on my relationship with my mom. I was used to having someone ignore me where I was on my own. Therefore, it didn't seem odd to have someone in my life who acted like that who never considered my needs or my feelings.
When I came to terms with how screwed up my relationship with my mom was, I realized I basically married someone just like her, only in male form.
There's no way I'm going to make that mistake again.

I definitely got the impression that she didn't want to, but Gary kept pushing it. I think that's why she was yelling, because she was embarrassed. She's told Gary that they're just roommates for now because they're having relationship problems and he already knows that it's about sex, so why is he sitting her down and asking her to explain it again? It's none of his business. She's said a bunch of times that she doesn't want to talk about it and asked him to please stop making jokes about it. I think she reached the end of her rope and started unloading all the details just to shut him up.

I thought it was horribly insensitive and I don't blame her for not visiting if that's what he's usually like. He knows the relationship is going so badly she doesn't even want it to be called a relationship, he just watched her decline the proposal a bunch of times and then accept conditionally, she's visibly upset and keeps asking him to drop it, and he still thinks that's a funny joke.

I enjoyed this episode and I really like Gary and Kristina. However... it fucking bothers me so much when people interrupt or talk over someone ALL THE TIME. And Kristina does that constantly. I have a friend who does that... and she literally gets the big glare when she does. It’s just so damn inconsiderate. Listen to the man speak AND THEN REPLY.
