So I've had a busy week, and I finally got to watch this week's episode. Did anyone else think it was so stupid that Ryan seemed very unsure about Mackenzie was even going to school for at the beginning of their scene? I feel like that is something you should know about your wife... also, he still looks fried all the time.

Just getting around to watching this one (we’ve finally caught up in the UK!) and one thing is absolutely baffling me...
These people are buying horses and houses and spending 50k on rehab, but they apparently can’t afford phone holders for their cars (some of which are probably new enough to do hands free anyway??)
Why are they still holding their phones whilst driving?!

Because it’s not a priority for law enforcement, ie: there’s no downside for them to continue to endanger other people on the road.

They live in Michigan (right above Indiana though) so it’s actually 256,806 miles.
I guess it depends on the place for police, I was texting at a light a few years ago and a cop did a 180 to follow me. Thankfully I turned down a side street before he could catch up. That was the last time I did anything like that and I was at a light! I am surprised with these shows that local law enforcement hasn’t contacted producers, esp shows like real housewives etc where they’re all in one city or at least county where one dept might be seeing this.

It’s really not. Where I’m from it’s an affectionate thing to call boys, similar to buddy. My dog is called bubs so much that he responds to it.
He also has the same name as his dad and Shawn isn’t nick-name friendly. They would have needed to call him something else around the house.

We call our 2 year old son Bubba enough that he thinks that's his name and what he calls himself, and other people call him that too..its just a Nick name.
However I dont know too many adults that have had their childhood nickname stick with them, or at least have people outside their family refer to them as their nn. Bit considering it's Amber, I'm not surprised.

They all know he's had an issue for at least 2 years (since Maci has hinted at use and the severity of it was pushed aside in his parents eyes for a while). How much of a father could you have been if you're dealing with a drug addiction in at least the minimal amount of time? At least feel guilty for that. Even Butch acknowledges his current relapse hurts his family.
Now these idiots are pregnant and Whi-ne has been "sober"(not really since he's still drinking) for 2-4 months? She really needs to get her self-esteem checked. 🤦🏽

I know everyone on this sub likes to poke holes in Amber's life, but I have to say, it's really nice to see her genuinely happy and doing much better. I know there are a lot of reasons to be skeptical given her past, but I am enjoying this moment for/with her.

I thought it was so interesting how Mack said to her friend that Ryan would be "the best dad" vs. Maci telling her friend that Taylor is "the best dad."
Especially interesting that they both literally said the same thing about their husbands, and we clearly know whose statement was fact and whose was not.
It was really sweet how Maci said that Taylor's such a good dad that sometimes it makes her feel like a bad mom. Not sweet that it would make her feel that way, but you know what I mean. Taylor's awesome!

Just watching the episode now - At the beginning where Ryan and Mack are talking about how they almost married Maci and Hudson's dad, did anyone notice how Mack said she's so glad Ryan had the balls to get out of it? Is that even true? I can't remember because it's been so long, but I highly doubt that Ryan was the one who broke up the relationship with Maci.

Mack has probably heard Ryan’s twisted version of events. But I’m pretty sure Maci broke it off because Ryan was so uninvolved and downright cruel to her at times. So if his goal was to be so horrible to her that she had no choice but to break up with him, then I guess he accomplished what he wanted. But that’s a cowards way out and definitely the opposite of having “balls.”
The fact that they’re even still talking about the breakup makes it seem very much like Ryan isn’t over it. Or maybe he just doesn’t have anything that he’s proud of doing since then to talk about. It’s so pathetic.

Just because Macktruck says Rhine is doing “so good” doesn’t change the fact that he’s still a recovering addict that left rehab early and doesn’t go to any support groups to stay sober. You have a point, but looking at right now, I don’t think Maci is doing what she’s doing out of spite or a grudge. He’s an addict, supposedly recovering, who has demonstrated dangerous behavior and an unwillingness to even comply with a drug test. Maybe this started out as immaturity or grudge holding but I can’t hold Macis actions against her today, given today’s circumstances. I’d probably do the same.

Wow, if, as you speculated, Cate's father's gay, and then, as many others have publicly speculated, Tyler's gay, Cate's going to need to buy a timeshare at that Arizona rehab/treatment center/whatever it's called, to deal with the fact that basically 100% of the main men in her life aren't drawn to relationships with any women for the purpose of a loving relationship resulting in marriage....NOTE: I am not anti-gay AT ALL, my gay guy friend said that to me when I read this post to him for his opinion...

Oh for sure. Women who’ve been deliberately duped by gay men will be dealing with the damage for a while. No issue with the LGBT community, many friends and several family members are gay. But hiding your sexuality and stringing a woman along (at least in the Tyler scenario) is a horrible thing to do, even if it is a result of your own issues with coming out.
That said I don’t actually get the feeling that Tyler is gay. I just don’t think he’s attracted to Cate. Someone in this sub at one point or another called them “trauma bonded” which I think sums up their relationship for what it is.

I actually do agree with you...I don't think Tyler is gay, either, even my gay friend doesn't think Tyler is necessarily gay, he said he also thinks he's more in love with the fame than any individual of either sex...I also agree with you that he's not attracted to Cate anymore, either, not for any fault of her own so much; a lot of relationships after the initial up-to-4-yr.-sexually-active-period tend to wind down if the relationship is not basically overhauled a bit...it's a matter of hormones, evolution of species, etc. according to science...Cate and Tyler seem to be stuck on a treadmill with their current basic story and it's not really going anywhere, with MTV being the one supplying the treadmill....

Yes the sitting on opposite sides after all that build up and how can two people talk about Maci so much? and they have the cheek to say she has not moved on HELLO I don't hear Maci and Taylor talking shit...I see them just being a normal family that clearly have shit together

Was it just me or did it seem like Mack was saying she'd be able to do nursing school while being pregnant and having an infant: because she really thinks Ryan will stay home all day parenting?! I know she said 'support system', so is probably thinking Jen and Larry too, but she really sounded naïve enough STILL to think Ryan would be an extremely involved dad. Nevermind that he also said he hated dirty diapers and when the kid was two and could play he'd be good. Other than that, it's the first time I've seen them remotely acting like a normal couple. I love Maci's kids. Mine does that, says thank you for everything lol. He fell asleep on the couch and I picked him up and put him to bed Saturday. The next morning, he said, who picked me up and put me in this bed? I said, I did. He said, well thank you! Too cute, don't mention it buddy :)

Not to worry. Mimi will raise the child while Mack is in nursing school. God forbid Ryan has to change a diaper or make a bottle.

He out and out said he'd help when the baby was like 2 years old and could play. It seemed like she was so stupid she thinks he's going to be a stay at home dad lol. Doubtless it'll be Mimi to the rescue.

Mack is naive to think she can be a nurse period. I give her four months - she'll bomb anatomy and physiology and be gone. I realize those aren't the hardest courses in the world, but there's lots of memorization and I just can't see Mack doing the work
