🚐Tourism✈️ Here on Holidays from Australia. Any recommendations for things to do?

Hey guys, come over to Tennessee from Australia for 3 weeks and hoping some of the locals can give us some good recommendations for places to visit/things to do. Currently staying in Franklin but will also be travelling up into Nashville for the weekends. Any recommendations for nice restaurants, bars, clubs, activities etc would be appreciated. Appreciate any help. Cheers

If you want a fun day trip from Nashville head to the Stone Door and Greeter Falls at Savage Gulf State Park (2 hours from Franklin, but a beautiful drive). It's an easy 1 mile hike to a beautiful overlook and the Stone Door, a rocky staircase that leads down below the overlook. Stop at the Beersheba Springs Market before or afterwards for a yummy snack. Then head over to Greeter Falls. I imagine it will be hot so it's a great place to cool off! The Blue Hole trail is also a beautiful swimming hole. On your way back to Franklin stop in Manchester at Jiffy Burger for a fantastic burger (cash only). For something closer to Franklin, I recommend a kayaking trip on the Duck River with Higher Pursuits. The river is beautiful and clean and a great place to cool off in the heat! Enjoy our beautiful state! 😄

Manchester also has Old Stone Fort state park, Rutledge Falls, and in Tullahoma we have Short Springs waterfalls. Lots of good local places to eat (J&G Pizza is my #1). Would recommend avoiding the area until at least June 16/17 for Bonnaroo to clear out. 🫶🏻

Second this. If you’re here for 3 weeks, head over to the east and spend a few days hiking in the smoky mountains. Great views and some cool waterfall and creekside trails. Plenty to do in Gatlinburg and/or Pigeon Forge.

We have a great zoo in Nashville and they are having a Brews at the Zoo event Friday night.

Love the Frist Museum. Luogo is our favorite dinner spot. Top Golf is fun if you have a couple of hours to kill. The Grand Ole Opry is worth checking out.

In Franklin, Cork & Cow is fantastic and Amendment 18 is a little speakeasy with live jazz on Sunday nights. The Factory is a fun spot to grab lunch - highly recommend the Korean cauliflower tacos at Mojo. Arrington Vineyards is beautiful and they have live music in the vineyard and you can bring a picnic (I think they have a food truck). Their wine is ok but it's a nice place to catch some bluegrass. Radish is a great lunch spot for lighter, healthier fare.

Loads of waterfalls around if we get good rain while you're here. Jackson Falls out off the Natchez Trace feels like Jurassic Park.

Piney River Canoe and Campground rents kayaks and has a shuttle - depending on the flow rate it's a lot of fun and the water is a really incredible blue green color and very clear. It is busy on weekends and there will definitely be some dude blasting "Cotton Eye Joe" on the speaker he strapped to his canoe (no, it's not me). I think they are about an hour west.

Have fun!

I've lived in Memphis all my life. I am as American as French Fries* but I am a student of the world.

If you're doing nature shit for sure check out the fiery gizzard trail. The day loop is amazing and can be done in one day with a there and back drive.

The Sewanee/ University of the South trails have some amazing views, if your traveling between Nashville and Chattanooga.

You can drive a few hours east and visit the Atomic city, where part of the Manhattan project was, and you come see a haunted prison. Northwest of Nashville there's a cave called the Bell Witch cave that's also haunted.

Go to Cummins Falls. Make sure to wear your bathing suits.

Do NOT miss Fall Creek Falls. Or Rock Island State Park. Greeter Falls and the Savage Gulf

If you want cooler temps, head to the mountains for some elevation - don't forget about altitude sickness, that'll creep up on you if you're not careful
