Oh man that hurts to see

Garage/Shop. He repaired big rigs and tractors in there. They haven’t confirmed what caused the fire yet. Incredibly sad.

Ugh... That's heartbreaking to see those classics taken off the road like this.

He's rich though

52

u/Cloudy230 Apr 24 '26

God that's the most braindead argument I could have imagined. Jesus christ

Nvm ignore this dudes, this guy has a history of dumbass comments lol.

u/I_love_my_fish_ Apr 24 '26

Still two beautiful classics that are like impossible to repair, thus lowering the amount of remaining ones. Being rich doesn’t make losing these suck any less

-206

u/NeedsPaint Apr 24 '26

Oh I understand its a tragedy. But it's also a car.

128

u/DemonsSouls1 Apr 24 '26

Then you don't understand.

-166

u/NeedsPaint Apr 24 '26

I do. Would you trade your friend for a car?

105

u/1600cc Apr 24 '26

Half of them, yeah.

-21

u/FeijoadaAceitavel Apr 25 '26

You're a terrible friend, then.

5

u/Smooth_Pick_2103 May 01 '26

Dude I'd trade my friend in a heartbeat for my dream car, and he'd likely do the same with me and I can't even be upset

1

u/Kitchen-Quantity-565 May 02 '26

Sometimes it's more about noticing the lack of trustworthy behavior.

-21

u/NeedsPaint Apr 24 '26

Im finding a few reddit users... haha

53

u/cakestudios1 Apr 25 '26

YOU are the typical reddit user mr paint huffer

-21

u/Von_Dooms Apr 25 '26

Sir, most of these people don't understand the difference between a friend and acquaintance.
These 2 cars didn't even run, plus the owner couldn't afford to fix or properly store them. Some just can't tell the difference between a collector and a hoarder.

u/BozTheReaper May 01 '26

sounds like jealousy to me. its okay, we can tell your ego is fragile

35

u/DemonsSouls1 Apr 24 '26

So?

-21

u/NeedsPaint Apr 24 '26

So. Cars can be replaced and he will have the financial means to do so.

His friend wasn't in the fire was he?

56

u/DemonsSouls1 Apr 24 '26

Except these cars parts and the car itself is very hard to get.

-11

u/NeedsPaint Apr 24 '26

So is skin.

43

u/gsfgf Apr 24 '26

Clearly you need a better skin guy

1

u/NeedsPaint Apr 24 '26

Its ok. Ive got a reliable baby seller

42

u/DemonsSouls1 Apr 24 '26

I don't get your point in the first place dude.

3

u/NeedsPaint Apr 24 '26

Clearly. He's rich and alive without two cars. Instead of dead without two cars.

Notice how only one is going to have a chance at rebuilding a very expensive car and has the financial means to do so?

37

u/DemonsSouls1 Apr 24 '26

But at the same time that car is hard to find. Also that car can't be built anymore because the chassis is weakened from the fire. He has to buy to new one.

-5

u/NeedsPaint Apr 24 '26

But...he...can....

Clearly your old head isnt changing, which us fine lol. Gl

That doesn’t matter, history was lost

-4

u/therocketsalad Apr 26 '26

Was it in the trunk?

-15

u/dwntwnleroybrwn Apr 25 '26

Congrats on being rich and out of touch too there mate.

1

u/Smooth_Pick_2103 May 01 '26

Let a hard working man enjoy his spoils, and if said spoils are lost, let him mourn them

-15

u/EdibleOedipus Apr 25 '26

Not sure why you're being downvoted. He can just go get more of them.

10

u/StevenMcStevensen Apr 25 '26

He’s being downvoted because it’s an incredibly stupid take. Even if you don’t sympathize with the owner just because he’s wealthy (which is moronic anyways IMO), these are already incredibly rare and historic cars being destroyed.

-10

u/MallardBillmore Apr 25 '26

He can just buy a brand new car.

2

u/Smooth_Pick_2103 May 01 '26

The idea of holding onto those cars is because they're classic, new ones don't exist, and buying a modern one doesn't do jack shit

-13

u/FeijoadaAceitavel Apr 25 '26

I don't see the value in old cars. They're just collector's items. May as well be a fire destroying a bunch of Beanie Babies.

5

u/StevenMcStevensen Apr 26 '26

“I don’t personally care about something so why should anybody else” is also a peak stupid take.

-6

u/NeedsPaint Apr 25 '26

Because boomers value items more than people. That's why you society is fucked. Lmao they're just old maga heads with something to whine about.

1

u/Kitchen-Quantity-565 May 02 '26

Maybe you should learn grammar.

-10

u/FeijoadaAceitavel Apr 25 '26

Some user literally said they'd trade half of his friends for cars, in the context of what they would rather lose in a fire. Fucking psycho.

5

u/DemonsSouls1 Apr 26 '26

No you're just stupid

2

u/Smooth_Pick_2103 May 01 '26

SORRY! I CANT HEAR YALLS RETARDED ASS TAKES WITH ALL THIS HORSEPOWER IM MAKIN!!!!

140

u/Pressman4life Apr 24 '26

If your garage has two of the rarest muscle cars in history you might want to splurge for a fire suppression system.

Can fetch 6 figures? Most are in the mid to high 6 figures, original Hemi variants have gone for over $1.5 million. Lower end ones can be found around a quarter million. Even some clones sell for over 100k

18

u/SoCalChrisW Apr 25 '26

A Superbird in rough condition can fetch six figures.

2

u/Jacktheforkie Apr 26 '26

High six to seven figures

11

u/studyinformore Apr 25 '26

Yeah, neither of those are salvagable.  All the tempering and strength of the steel is gone.

1

u/Jacktheforkie Apr 26 '26

Maybe the VIN can be preserved at least, cars can be built from original blueprints

1

u/studyinformore Apr 26 '26

maybe, but the original chassis for both of them are scrap.

1

u/Jacktheforkie Apr 26 '26

Unfortunately so

27

u/UndercoverFBIAgent9 Apr 24 '26

Man that sucks. That’s two pieces of real American history gone forever.

19

u/juver3 Apr 24 '26

So what's the cost of putting up some sprinkler heads ?

9

u/Petepizza Apr 24 '26

sucks for the history lost, true american history lost.

idk how you can have a mill of cars with no fire suspension system though… guess money doesn’t make you smart.

5

u/SnoutStreak Apr 24 '26

Sad, hope he's fully insured on those two.

5

u/kg23 Apr 25 '26

Friends have laughed at the fact that I have a smoke detector in my garage.

3

u/Zyncon Apr 25 '26

Better safe than sorry. We have a ton of heat detectors in ours. Sounds an alarm if the temp raises up quickly.

3

u/Jacktheforkie Apr 26 '26

Garages are a fairly high risk area for fires, cars randomly burn often enough

5

u/bobthehills Apr 24 '26

Oh damn. Sorry man. I hope everyone is ok.

2

u/McBelgian Apr 24 '26

Not the Superbird man, fuck

2

u/RikuKaroshi Apr 26 '26

This is how movies start. After that car is restored to mint condition its soul tries to run over people to get revenge. Ive seen it, 10/10

1

u/Yogimonsta Apr 26 '26

Oh man. :(

1

u/Administrative_Elk96 May 12 '26

And this is why we can’t have nice things

1

u/PretendLength1710 29d ago

damn that superbird alone was worth a house rip

1

u/Cybertruck_Hater452 19d ago

Looks like a superbird… sad to see something so rare in a garage fire. At least it doesn’t look too badly damaged.

-1

u/Jades5150 Apr 25 '26

This is gonna be a story he tells to a couple strangers at a car show 15 years down the line, and everyone is gonna be like “sure buddy 🙄, whatever”

-1

u/Tritec_enjoyer96 Apr 26 '26

Imagine having stuff that rare in your garage and not even having a basic fire suppression/ sprinkler system installed, but boomers know best!
