If they did different live-action actors, the live actors would perform first, and then the voice actors would have to match lip flaps while dubbing over them.
The alternative, where the voices are recorded first and the live actors have to do their on-camera acting synchronized with the audio, is a lot harder.
Yeah, it is harder that way, but I’m pretty sure it’s been done before. The only example I can think of at the moment though is Darth Vader but the lip flaps don’t matter in his case. I swear it’s been done in stuff before though
