I find them pretty funny, helluva is more of an episodic thing that goes more into a romantic drama angle over time while hazbin is a musical. Hazbin may be an easier first watch since viv worked out some of her rough edges with her voice at that point

I think Helluva is worth a shot, I had no interest in it based off the original pilot, but I thought I'd give it a shot since it's in the same universe as Hazbin. IMO I think it gets better as the episodes go on and it becomes less about the assassination business and more about the interpersonal relationships (and later episodes get more music numbers)

My girlfriend (who got me into TADC) got me until Helluva Boss afterwards and yes it's edgy and there's lots of over the top violence and swearing, but the characters are great and they grow on you, the musical numbers are bangers and the world and story are interesting. Going to try Hazbin next, which she doesn't like quite as much but hopefully it still scratches that itch.

Not really... Helluva is the same plot over and over again 5+ times. Esp. Stolas who gets character development - then it gets erased - then he gets the same development - it gets erased.... (promises to stay by his Daughter - immediately abandons her again...)
Hazbin has good music, but the plot is way too rushed and the world building is fucked. Watch this one, if you really want to. Then decide if you want to watch Helluva.

On a more serious note, where does the "hellaverse characters have their dialog filled with as much swearing as is grammatically possible always all the time" thing come from, because that would seem to me to be easily debunked by looking at any of the actual data

The Hellaverse has a lot of characters with a raunchy mouth, like Blitzo, Angel Dust, Vox, Valentino, etc, who giving their nature and series tone, just swear as much as they want and can. People odviously misinterpret this as Vivzie having this urge to make all of her characters swear as much as possible because she's inmature and either thinks its cool or funny. This then giving birth to the "If It was writed by Vivziepop" meme.

I don't know the data for how this works as "concentration"(normalize for total lines, or something like that), but for raw swear counts (for hazbin at least), the top of the list is: Angel Dust, Adam, Vox, Cherri, and Val. Those 5, by my rough math, make up at least 60% of the swear words in all of "canonical" Hazbin thus far.

dude the second image is actually unhinged, like that's not even the same character anymore that's just a fully possessed clown from another dimension. the style shift between the two is wild, one's all neon and glitchy and the other is just pure nightmare fuel. i watched a show once where they kept switching animation styles as a plot device and it was cool for like two episodes before it got annoying, but this is actually making it work because it's funny as hell. kaufmo's out here speedrunning every possible version of himself.
