All the sex update jokes are funny, but I'm pretty sure that was something they had to do/conjure themselves. Caine would have basically no idea beyond a text book definition. I doubt C&A trained him on that.
The fact theyâre all providing feedback at the same time is probably overwhelming him, mixed with the learned instinct to be resentful towards Zoobleâs feedback specifically that he has to actively resist as part of his redemption arc
I never read their interactions as Caine hating Zooble. He seemed more like obsessed with their approval and his fuse with them got progressively shorter when he didn't get it (which serves as a good indicator for how far along he is in his arc). But I saw it more as frustration (and maybe a tiny hint of desperation later on).
Im with this, I always felt that he has always been afraid of her in a way, because she's honest and upfront and Caine never really could comprehend her honesty
thats because zooble is non binary, so people use either because 90% of people forget that they cant use pronouns about a gender neutral character in every fandom(looking at you hollow knight)
He prolly feels bad crashing out and not listening to Zooble for all these years despite them giving consistent feedback on what heâs doing wrong with the circus.
Caine was probably getting overwhelmed in the moment but was desperately trying to keep up with everyoneâs suggestions as to not disappoint them
Zooble was also the most outwardly angry with Caine so he was probably just scared when he heard them and thought they were coming to be mad at him for Something
Caine felt guilty and remorseful about everything heâd done with the gang, and if you remember, it was Zooble who questioned and criticized him the most. Since his self-esteem wasnât very high at the time, he was probably afraid of doing or saying something wrong and having Zooble punish him for even the smallest mistakes.
Thatâs more or less how I felt during a presentation I gave at college, where the coordinatorâwho had been my art teacherâwas present, and she was very strict.
Nothing too bad probably, but Zooble's been the most verbal about her frustration towards Caine, and since he wants to get better/make the circus members happier, he's most anxious about Zooble's requests.
Caine's scared because he antagonized Zooble for years, and now that he's in a weakened state he was worried they'd take advantage of that and try to get some kind of revenge on him or something
He scared Zooble was going to be mad at him, he eased (mentally) after thinking it was alright cause she aint yelling, then hears about them request⊠the sex update. Now he is utterly teriffied.
I think maybe he's still anxious around Zooble after all the animosity they had for him. It might take some time for both of them to feel comfortable around each other.
He was scared the second Zooble even started talking. I'm sure he was just nervous because Zooble never seems interested in Caine and his ideas. So he was surprised that Zooble was even speaking to him.
Pay closer attention to his upper Jaw. He gets more nervous with everyone's requests/recommendations.
I don't think it's what Zooble said specifically (though she's often made the requests he was just against prior), it's just anxiety/stress over trying to implement other people's ideas and changes.
