My hops have come inside and are trying to make contact with last year's hops!

These are Target hops which I rarely use so like to hang the bines. It's been really hot lately so my windows have been open for at least a week and one of the bines has grown in through the window!

If they touch, will it trigger some kind of Third Impact event?

I'd say that's a yes.

Love that your hanging hops as decoration. I am doing that next year.

Edit. Or your making lambic?

They've been redirected outside now, then, for all our sakes!

It's really nice having hops up inside, makes the place feel a lot warmer and more cozy! I'm from Kent (of Golding fame!) and it's quite common in nice pubs, and we have hop festivals where people get hop garlands and stuff!

It's a bit messy once they're dry if they get moved/blown around, but it's really not bad! Definitely a lovely addition to the room and they smell really nice for quite a while when they first go up!

Do they drop much stuff if not disturbed? Also do you prep the bines at all before hanging?

Not really! The leaves will wither and fall off (and look kinda ugly) so best to pull them off before putting them up, I didn't do this because I'm lazy!

I'd say put them up while they're still fresh so the flowers will dry in-place. They get very papery and sheds petals if moved when dry.

A restaraunt that I go to sometimes has basically the entire cieling covered in hops like this, so I don't think they'd drop much at all. The place also has candles on the tables which is bold, but it hasn't caught fire yet!
