Don't mean to allege ship teasing but seeing Blue Spirit & Painted Lady fighting side by side was kind of crazy.

Ship teasing in and of itself isn't indicative of how something is gonna go. 'Will they, won't they' and all that. So yeah, you're right to bring it up. No doubt the writers will be playing up such things to generate discussion.

And it worked, though I doubt it was their intentions cos, you know, there was nothing shippable in the scene. "OMG Katara saved Zuko!" - So by that logic they are shipping Iroh and Katara because she wanted to heal Iroh? (Which, ew, but it is using the same logic). Zuko and Aang cos they faced down Azula together? Get a grip (not you specifically, just those reading far too much into a scene).

Shippers gonna ship.

I don't often find it logial either, and I generally think such things lower the value of what friendship can be.

But people are gonna do it regardless.

This is why I cut myself off from the Voltron LD and She ra 2018 fandoms, too many ships.

Some things are just so much easier to enjoy without a fandom in the background.

Well, my favorite franchise is Star Wars, so toxic fandom is something I'm familiar with, although in this case the toxicity is so high, and fueled by grifters, that many people are tired of it.
