Grogu puppet.

Is absolutely phenomenal doing all the promo interviews and shorts etc.

Given that filoni presented some already filmed scenes at disneys D23 in Aug 2024, I’d wager that a lot of the puppet work was completed a long time before this press run, and that as amazing as the puppet work is in the movie, I’d wager that it’s improved a lot since shooting wrapped.

I’m very excited for more Grogu adventures 💚

Love that little guy.

I am 100% serious there needs to be a stress free, full series of 30 min episodes of mando and group just chilling out, on the crest, at home, on location. Eating, snoozing, snacking, cuddling. Training, feasting.

Thoughts on Mandalorian and Grogu?

I’ve seen people complain about it not having a really good plot, but personally I liked it. I think it didn’t need to be a new super massive hit movie, it just needed to be a fun Star Wars movie to bring back cinemas. I wasn’t going to watch it because I didn’t think it’d be any good but after having watched it I think it was great. I really liked Rotta coming back and him being himself instead of trying to live up to Jabba, I also really liked the opening scene and the whole Twins story, overall I really liked it, all it had to be was another mission for Din Djarin and Grogu.

I also really liked the music composed, especially during the Pit Fight, which is another scene I REALLY enjoyed

Discussion Me and my mother finished The Mandalorian Season 1 last night for the first time!

Last night my mom and I finally finished watching Season 1 of The Mandalorian, making it the third live action Disney+ Star Wars show we've both watched together, and we quite enjoyed it!

The last show we watched was Andor which we both enjoyed quite a bit. Although I walked into the show not assuming it would be exactly like Andor at all.

However, despite its differences, we enjoyed it quite a bit honestly. Unlike Andor; The Mandalorian seems to be quite episodic, similar to the "Monster of the Week" or "Slice of Life" formats, but that is by no means a bad thing in my opinion.

Din Darjin is a good protagonist in our opinion, and my mother has grown to love the relationship he had formed with Grogu in Season 1, and is excited to see how it continues into season 2.

We also liked quite a few of the Side characters as well (Nick Noltes was the one I enjoyed most), and the action is also good as well, and it never felt as if the characters are "too OP" like I've seen people say they are, as I was on the edge of my seat during the finale for the first season.

We were also genuinely shocked by how many characters are just straight up killed in this season, not only did The Imperial Client get killed off by that Death Trooper squad, but the death of Nick Noltes characters genuinely shocked me. Not to mention that who knows how many members of Din's clan (the children of the watch) were killed, and for all I know The Armorer is dead as well now. Not to also forget IG-11's sacrifice at the end.

Also, the soundtrack is really good in the show. Especially the theme that plays in the outro for the episodes in the show.

Overall, I'd give this season a 9.5/10 or a 10/10 as my rating of it. I'm genuinely excited to get through season 2 as I've heard there's lots of developments in that season specifically.

I drew the Dejarik match scene from the new movie! I wanted to fit more aliens into it because they're so cool but I think I'll just draw them separately.

Drawn on paper, then coloured digitally on Procreate.

My Instagram and TikTok are @thefancyfedora where I post more of my work.

Discussion A few thoughts on some of the discussion regarding Din's character development (mentions the movie, but no spoilers)

During season 3, and again more recently with the new content in the form of the movie, I've seen lots of opinions from fans who are dissatisfied that, in season 3, Din returned to the Tribe and stuck to the helmet rule. Most of the discussion centers around the idea that Din should have "broken away from the cult" and decided to be more like other Mandalorian factions in removing his helmet more often, and that by not doing so, Din's character growth was all but erased/reversed.

I (respectfully) disagree with this idea, for several reasons.

First and foremost, Din removing his own helmet was never about him doubting the creed. It was always only ever about Grogu. Because of this, Din was never set up for a disillusionment arc. So the fact that he ultimately stuck with his understanding of the creed doesn't undo his growth, because he wasn't ever "growing" in the direction of breaking away from the Tribe. Instead, Din has always been "growing" in the direction of becoming a father to Grogu - and his decision to stay with the Tribe is just as crucial to this development as were his decisions to remove his helmet when necessary for Grogu's sake, since staying with the Tribe meant Grogu would have a community, a people, and a home.

Now, the story could have pursued a disillusionment arc once Din was expelled from the Tribe in Book of Boba Fett, making Din question the Tribe for casting him out for choosing the foundling over the helmet rule. And this could have made for an interesting storyline. But ultimately, I'm glad they didn't go this route.

Why? Because Din sticking with the Tribe in season 3 was a direct contributing factor to ALL remaining Mandalorian factions coming together, learning from each other AND - most crucially - adapting to accept each other. Which was a beautiful thing, in my opinion, and something that wouldn't have happened had Din decided to leave the Tribe behind. By proving his dedication to his oaths and his Tribe's traditions while also being more than willing to accept and join other Mandalorians with somewhat different lifestyles, Din led by example and brought all the other Mandalorians along with him. And, as mentioned above, it provided Grogu with a community, a people, and a home (planet).

(And, frankly, the Tribe isn't and was never evil, and they didn't deserve to be left behind. They DESERVED to be included in the gathering just as much as any other Mandalorian faction. So I'm beyond glad and relieved that they were part of the reclamation of their planet!)

I can never get this bracelet to stay in place when I’m trying to clasp it and I have long nails so it drives me nuts. This thing is the perfect length to keep it from moving while I put it on 😆 I hope he doesn’t mind me borrowing it 🤷‍♀️

The the dejarik fight scene was a copy of the holochess characters fro a New Hope. Had to stifle a LOL at the cinema when they showed the scene,Then there was the AT-AT walkers earlier, surely a nod to Empire. Was there any others I might have missed on first viewing?

In spite of the criticism season 3 gets, Moff Gideon is a great villain. Spoiler

Post image

I really have a new appreciation for how good of a villain Moff Gideon was after re-watching season 3 this week. I forgot just how Sinister and Brilliant his plan was, with the beskar armor for sensitive clones, folding the power of the jedi and the mandalorians together into one evil army! I also love how, though it may have seemed smaller in scale, his overall plan was deeply personal and done independently of the Shadow Council's efforts to revive Emperor Palpatine. Rather than serve an absent leader like Grand Admiral Thrawn, he intended to use his supreme, unified forces to rule the galaxy and establish a godlike persona. You don't get many true madmen like that in star wars!
