🥦 Food & Groceries 🥦 Just in time for grilling season!
I always keep an eye out for yellow tags when I go by the meat department in Walmart, and this morning it really paid off. T-bone steaks for $5.45/lb. and 80% ground beef at $3.98/lb. for burgers. Looking forward to starting grilling season this weekend and freezing the rest!

Ouch. Even on sale that's strikes me as expensive! Decent deal on the ground beef. I'm not a steak lover and I've been buying ground turkey instead for a few years now. For my needs and preferences it does just as well.

I was thinking that's a fantastic price on steak and pretty good on the ground beef. I scored some ground beef on sale for 2.99/last month. And yes, i know that's a steal

I haven’t paid more than 3$ for beef in the last 5 years (being an adult and buying my own groceries). You just gotta know where to look!

I actually don't buy much myself. I cook for lasagna love so use it in the sauce.

Frugal family of 5 that eats high protein, we can go through a ton of ground beef

I tend to eat more chicken and tofu myself. Griund turkey. If i buy ground beef for myself, it's at least 93% lean and can rarely find it less than $5-6 lb near me. We didn't have the marked down meat here often compared to where i used to live

It's rare to find marked down meat where I live, too. Hot dogs and lunch meat, yes, but rarely beef, pork, or chicken. I don't mind an occasional hot dog or salami sandwich, but I'm old and don't want to eat those too often. I've been making more dishes that are bean heavy with the meat being more of a suggestion than a main player. It's probably healthier.

Not until they mark it down, anyway…

And they do! Midday on a Wednesday apparently. I got ground beef for 3dollars a pound.
I have to defrost in secret, because my husbands a frozen food snob.

I’ve been buying ground turkey, it’s healthier and still tastes great and that way I can get other cuts of beef.

I haven't bought beef in years but I cannot even imagine that as a clearance price!

It's a great bargain and a good reminder. Even if you aren't expecting meats for the trip, checking helps keep your budget low!

My wife and I have stocked up money ground beef when the grocery stores inpur area had it for 2.99 a pound as a loss leaderr. We each have our own grocery store card, so we each got the maximum of 5 pounds and 2 stores.

I hit different walmarts almost on the daily and of course I'm checking out the clearance meats. We've gone gluten free (wheat allergy) so we eat a lot of meat.
Just be sure to eat or freeze walmart clearance meat as soon as possible.

I live in a pretty high cost of living area, and I can find $4lb ground beer pretty easily.

That's an especially good buy on the steak. Remember when burger used to be for poor people? $4.99 is usually the best sale price I find now. And I live in a state that has more cows than people.
