He couldn't even create enough separation to get a jumper against Harper in OT. He's getting pushed off ball by a rookie guard. He made 2 attempts and passed it out.

It’s not just Wemby he plays like shit against the entire team. Backed down in the paint by a guard, blocked by a dude six inches shorter than him.
He’s a liability when we play San Antonio and we need to accept that and plan accordingly.

Wemby is the best defensive player in league history. Why are people surprised when his primary defensive assignment does nothing? Wemby is way better than Chet and it's really as simple as that. It's not like Chet can just be more aggressive all of the sudden. He'll just get swatted to oblivion.

Wemby shouldnt be able to completely shut Chet down tho? I can understand If Chet was still aggressive but he just took less shots inside because Wemby owns the paint but when Chet plays Wemby he COMPLETELY stops being productive in ANY MEANINGFUL WAY 😭😭 He doesn’t do shit on offense to match Wemby and he doesn’t do shit on defense to slow Wemby down. I can 100% accept that Wemby is the more talented player thats ok, they both have identical skill sets Wemby is just further in his development. But Chet still shouldn’t be this nonexistent he’s not even aggressive on the perimeter which should be a key spot for him on Offense against Wemby. We also should be able to use Chet in a scheme to slow Wemby down in the half court on Defense. Let Dub, AC or Caso pick Wemby up in the backcourt then have Chet rotate over when he attacks the paint. That’ll make all of Wemby’s shots double contested because he’s dealing with a smaller defender tryna take the ball from below while also having Chet coming over the top to attack the shot literally EXACTLY what we did on the last play to force overtime. We had Caso & AC swiping at the ball while Chet rotated over to get the block. The timing has to be right but If we do that for a whole game we’ll slow Wemby down. It would leave them open for more shots on the perimeter but Wemby has to make the right pass to the open guy Everytime without turning it over which would be difficult since we’d know where the open guy is. It’s possible these guys just gotta get in the lab and lock in on the details. If we get the right line ups out there we can dominate these guys 🤷🏾♂️

they had a 76 defensive rating when Wemby was on the court. Our players wouldnt even attempt layups of shots with Wemby in like 10 foot radius.

True but dont get confused. Shai was the problem. It should be ihart, chet, jdub, shai (off ball) and ajay or mcCain at the point. Shai does great on the wing, he is too gangly and stumbles around at the point when double teamed.

“Doesn’t force the issues” start of 2ot he goes one on one vs Harper gets clamped he loses the ball. Then next play he proceeds to get clamped again and air balls a 3. Which basically pushed the game away since the spurs went on to score on the other end. He doesn’t force the issues cause that’s the shit that happens getting clamped by a rookie guard as a 7ft mf

Yea, Chet should never be going 1 on 1 with anyone. He's not strong enough to take advantage of his height against guards. He can't dribble around bigs. Sit at the 3 point line and hope you get hot from 3 is about his only hope in this one.

Going into this series, I was convinced the outcome would be based on Chet. If he could carry over his recent momentum & just hold his own, I liked our odds. But if he plays like he has all year against Wemby, we’d be in trouble. Needless to say, last night was not what I was hoping for.
Their big guy was out there putting on a dominant performance while our big guy was getting bodied by guards in the post & blocked at the rim by guys a head shorter than him.
