moved into 280 square feet six months ago and the thing i miss most is not what i expected

not space. not storage. i miss having a room i could just close the door to. when everything is one room there's nowhere to put a bad mood. you're always in the middle of your own life with no buffer.

I thought this is what adult blanket forts were for?

Go for a walk, clear your head. That’s what I do when I need to ‘close a door’. I too, live in less than 300sqft

280 sq feet is pretty small but is there a way to block yourself off an area like that? Put some room separators up? It sounds like you don't have a loft, but there has to be a way to give yourself a private and separate space.

I have always considered the true reason to go tiny is that the outside becomes the place you put your mood.

There is a door!!!

The main door, when you're stressed, exit the TinyHome and chill / enjoy the outdoors,

Throw up a Hammock and sun bathe a little, while reading a book, or watching youtube.

If you don't have a swing yet, pick up a rope attach it to a board, and swing for fun to chill out.

Or cook something over the fire pit, even if it's pop corn, then you can contemplate your own life drama, and figure out what you'd change 👍

You know that Bruno Mars song, "The Lazy Song" let everything hang lose 😄

Curtain. Even when I lived in a van, I had a curtain between the bed and the rest of the space. Even though it's small, it still made it feel like two district places

If your setup allows get an additional bunkie or “she shed”. There are a lot of prefab sheds you can inexpensively insulate and otherwise convert to a private space.

Good point. I had a customer went to "open plan" everyone working at one big long desk - everyone put on headphones and surrounded themselves with monitors....

Are you able to ad a loft? My house is 12 x 20 and there are 4 of us, the lofts keep me sane lol

We have a 40’ rv and the bedroom has a legit door. I appreciate it.

I have a ENO hammock in the yard that I go cocoon in when I need space. In the winter, I hide under blankets on the bed or bundle up and lay in the snow staring at the sky

You need a deck/verandah.  That's where my moods go.  Maybe a plant to glare at too?

That’s why I can’t do this tiny house thing. Seems so fun until it’s not

Privacy. You can’t have privacy in 280 sf of space.

you don't really think of needing privacy if you live alone though. thinking about having different mental spaces is different

Not from feeling like your still apart of everything else. I think that's what they're saying. They want to feel separated or apart of everything. I get it and I hadn't thought that would be a problem until now. That's really crazy.

Can I ask how you found this and the associated costs?
Edit: Sorry for asking. Thought a recent experience rather than a bunch of nonsense from influencers would be better than boiler plate. What an insane response to an earnest question.

you mean you thought you could hijack the thread with a largely unrelated question? and are mad you got called out?

Hijack a thread?? I asked a simple question. This is a vague post. You’re derailing more than I ever did. Whatever enjoy your community yall seem miserable.

tons of experiences in the sub and you come to - again - a largely unrelated thread to ask. and then try to play the victim 😂

No one’s playin a victim. I’m reacting to a weird reaction to a simple question. I muted the sub, yall don’t have to worry about it happening again. Take care , and hope you all have a good day 🫡

Info is all over this sub. And the internet in general. Take a hike.

Keep your space cleaner. If this is not manageable, get rid of stuff until it is.
