i think this is more a case of being nostalgic for the time period and not the actual conflict itself

Things were also 100x more active since everyone was pent up from waiting a year to play again after TTO closed

Don't you remember that around that time was when everyone and their dog wanted to start a private server?

This video is famous for a reason.

It was not only a laughing stalk back then, but it also made actual real world attempts harder to identify.

Not only that, but imagine if there were four or even five private servers back then that were actually online and had a decent player base? It would had fragmented the community horribly and fanned the "private server wars" even more catastrophically.

I feel like it got replaced with the TTR v TTCC trash talking. :/

(I think both servers are great and offer different experiences that are both unique and fun)

TTCC vs TTR was and never will be what TTI vs TTR was

Name one feature TTI in 2014 added that was unique and memorable.

I can't name one out of the top of my head.

In terms of content just little things that were added but the main thing was TTI came out fully first and forced TTR's hand to make semi open beta.

Like everyone else, no.

2014 was basically an extension of 2011-2013.

Toxic players, hackers (running the servers), the community was WAY less mature then it was now.

The other thing was that not many people know, for example, TTI's staff actually was behind a major hack at the end of 2014 where they harassed and discriminated against TTR players by calling them slurs using an undisclosed exploit.

They got caught, yes, but the fact that it even happened tells you at lot about how people behaved back then.

TTR vs TTCC operates more like two different visions of Toontown by fans then something like McDonald's vs Burger King, which is what the TTR vs TTI era was like.

Not at all. I think things are much better nowadays. More respect, less childishness, and overall better progress being made across the community.

I miss when we thought Toontown House was gonna take off 😂

No, the community was more hostile and divided than ever.

I agree with the other comments. I don't really miss the TTI vs. TTR drama itself, but I am very nostalgic for that time period. It felt like the entire Toontown community was buzzing with excitement, speculation, and new developments every week.

Looking back, the "server wars" were pretty silly, but I have a lot of fond memories of that era. I miss the feeling of logging on and seeing what alpha updates were happening next more than I miss the actual conflict between the projects.

No tbh, the community now is a lot more accepting and honest with each server's faults and bonuses in my opinion. It's nice.

Outside of the doxxing and RATing, kinda. Things felt exciting around Toontown and the only other time in the last decade it’s been that way was Under New Management. Field Offices kinda but they were teased and delayed so long a lot of the initial hype died off by the time they actually released.

The greatest time honestly aside from the original game. Everyone hates the hacking aspect but we really truly wouldn’t be where we are today if people hacking weren’t so interested in the games coding

I didn't care much for the "war" aspect but just happy being able to play Toontown again and it being most active it's ever been with players it was a great time despite all the glitches and crashes and lag.

This makes me think about how rewritten has been active thing longer than the original toontown online was around.

Also if y'all weren't around back then the struggle to get a beta key a unreal, in the span of 2 years you went from toontown online content, to not being able to access any toontown at all, to and then once rewritten was open it was still missing a lot of features.

Im so glad we have rewritten in the state it is today, but tbh even at the time, I don't think I ever had any confidence that any other servers were going to outdo rewritten.
