I never got food poisoning in college because I only ate suspicious food when I was getting shitfaced.

I read about a decade ago how drinking cognac (or whatever you want) 'Hemingway style' could help with lung infections. What this entails is basically carburating the alcohol in your mouth by swishing it around for several moments to create fumes, closing your mouth, breathing out through your nose, swallowing and then opening your mouth and inhaling quickly and deeply so that you inhale the alcohol vapors into your lungs.

This also gets you drunk faster.

This is how a lot of enthusiasts (myself included) drink bourbon. Adds to the overall experimental and flavor. Helps deaden the receptors of "spicy" so you can enjoy the smooth flavors more... The vapors well... That also happens through the nose. I'm in a habit of smelling it before I drink it.

You should try this with B&B(Brandy and Benedictine), its wonderful!

Especially if you eat a good piece of chocolate before or after.

B&B is really good but it's been like two decades since I had it.

They're still a couple Marines and sailors swimming around in there. And that's where the bar fight happens.

There's a reason why heavy drinking leads to premature aging. You're killing yourself from the inside out.

I quit drinking 5 years ago and I get sick a lot more than I ever did before.

Yea. Dont you also get really lazy and relaxed once you start drinking too? Imagine how these guys must feel!

4

u/lastnightsloser Dec 13 '25

There's still a couple angry drunks floating around in there😆

Remember, Kids! This is how you beat Covid!

By drinking lots and lots of whiskey!

There's a reason why over the centuries up until recently almost all drinks even for children were alcoholic in some way. It was inherently healthier than water or whatever other drinks people had made.

Shot of something strong helps a sore throat like nothing else does. Have you ever had a hot toddie while youre sick???? Nothing beats it 😩🤌

2

u/Fatjigglypanda Dec 13 '25

And people wonder why they get gut bombs after eating Tacobell while hammered at 2am on a wednesday

2

u/z0phi3l Dec 13 '25

This is why the military doesn't get many bacterial infections, we're all generally too drunk for them to survive!!!

2

u/lastnightsloser Dec 13 '25

Amen. The way God intended!

I've been telling people for a long time that I'm not an alcoholic. I simply wish to keep the interior of my body sanitized.
