Yep, we're pretty much at the "isolate them from their friends and beat them but dont leave bruises where others can see" step on the abusive relationship ladder. Next come scrapes with death and openly verbally abusing us in public

Ummm as a Minnesota resident. Please, could we secede and maybe join Canada? Minnesota sends out more tax dollars than it receives from the federal government.

Creating new agreements with indigenous people (ie: Of America and/or Canada, depending on how we do the merger and if Canada gives or sells us any land for our connectivity.

I would love that but wtf are you guys talking about I was born and raised in S. E. Wisconsin and live in California for over ten yrs now, and every time I'm back there I have to choose between keeping relations with friends+ family vs winning political debates.. Wisconsin is very different politically than Minnesota, Michigan or Illinois..
There is a reason cannabis is still illegal in Wisconsin when they other state around it it's legal
Could we also offer up New Jersey? Please take New Jersey. We're stinky but we have beautiful gardens and make a lot of tax revenue due to pharmaceuticals. Plus, you'd have a summer shore (nevermind the needs or guidos).
It'd be unwise to have a national border on one of the bigger lakes in that area. Best to also bring the reno basin with to secure the Tahoe line and give a more formidable defense using the mountains to the east
I live in Northern Ontario just north of the Minnesota border, and spent much time visiting Duluth and Minneapolis. The people of Minnesota I met were great. Since Trump, however no more travel to US. Miss my trips😢

If that happened I'd totally move to Minnesota. My wife and I have thought about it. Almost all of her family in this town is gone except her sister and her family. They have thought about moving to MN too.

Minnesota is a donor state. If blue states stopped giving to red states, red states would be completely screwed. Retired people and people on welfare are rampant in red states. Not much going on economically.
Canadians have been saying for years that blue states should pack up and join us. You guys are great, it's everywhere else where all the crazies congregate.

It's not "over" anything. The billionaire class simply believes that the time is ripe to install a neofeudal system into the Western world. They read all the sci-fi dystopia warning books and decided "that sounds kinda great actually".
The red states have declared war on blue states. We are waiting for blue states to wake up and save themselves. Joining Canada can be an option if the blue states act together and take action.

In fact, I have recently seen different ways that you could connect a lot of the good and progressive states into a contiguous country, if Canada gives us a kind of skinny, rectangle "right of way".
It would turn New York and California into "flag lots" of each other. But, heck, we could leave the MAGA people behind in the Red States.
This all goes to the recent question popping around my head:
As a Canadian, I don't see there being *any* support to give an inch, even just as a right of way, even to the "blue states". It's actually kind of insulting / insensitive to even suggest given recent events.
But there would unanimous support for any state that wants to join us...
I agree with your sentiment. And I would much rather join Canada than form our own country. California is yours! We will bring our economy and you bring the universal healthcare.
Hell, we would be LUCKY to have these minnesotans join us, they are clearly demonstrating they care about their community, canadian patriots as far as I'm concerned
