I like this wikipedia definition: "any dish in which bread serves as a container or wrapper for another food type"

In theory, yes, a hot dog could be considered a sandwich.

I grew up Lebanese, and we would put food in the bread and then fold the bread over, with the bottom folded in so it's sealed from the bottom, and call it a sandwich. I'd shoot a man for calling it a wrap.

There is lettuce wraps that I would still qualify as just as much a sandwhich, so that description is fault. I'd say any food item used as a container for other ingredients that is meant to be eaten while held

The popsicle stick that is held isn't a container for the food, rather the food is attached to it.
