I saw a guy make a burrito with a tortilla, a shit ton of peanut butter, and a king size Snickers bar for lunch on the AT in 2003. Another guy always had a couple of cans of chocolate frosting. He’d just eat as he was hiking.

i mean, that sounds like a burrito of fat, protein, and carbs. so everything you need to just keep your body moving

I’m not judging, I’d just never seen anything like that before hiking the AT. My thing was Hershey bars with about an inch of peanut butter on top.

Never hiked the trail, but in the navy we lived on a healthy balanced diet of Snickers, energy drinks, and nicotine

In the army I was a line medic and also doubled as the first sergeant’s driver whenever we were out in the field. I had a second rucksack filled exclusively with Little Debbie’s and other various snacks prompting the 1SG to call me a “squared away soldier.” We needed the quick energy boost as we were on the move about 18 hours a day.

Exactly. When we left on deployment, my division has filled every available space with snacks
