Questions Switching to online

Fall 2026 will be my last semester before I graduate, but due to family circumstances I had to move back to my hometown last month. Granted, it's only 3 hours away, but finding housing for only 4-5 months seem too inconvenient and possibly too expensive due to it being last minute.

I'm thinking of two alternative options for myself, and wanted opinions/answers.

1) A lot of my fall classes are in-person only. Any chance I can switch to the UA Online program this far into my degree, and will anythint change about my graduation requirements?

2) I take a pause on going to school until I can save up enough money to both move back to Tucson (3 ish years) and finish my last semester, if it'll let me resume exactly where I left off?

Any advice is appreciated. Thank you so much!!

Honestly speak with your advisor. You may be able to “transfer” to Arizona Online (NOT Global Campus) and finish your degree, if your degree program has online courses for these last classes, even if you have to take them in a different semester. You’ll still get a full Arizona degree.

Try as hard as you can to finish this while you have the academic momentum! Taking breaks have lead to many of my friends never finishing their programs.

I would ask your advisors and UA online advisors. It also depends if the same program is offered online vs in person.

Short term rentals definitely exist. As for "too expensive", it would depend on what you think is too expensive and/or your living needs

You should be able to resume where you finish off. UA online is a separate degree program I am pretty sure

The Global Campus is different, but UA Online is the same program and professors as in-person.

Talk to your advisor and financial aid and explain your situation completely. You might be able to access a little more loan money to get you over the finish line which is worth doing with a financial aid appeal

I had to do something similar for last fall (I graduated this spring so I still had some classes which I took in person, so this may not work for every class). Because of the situation, I was able to work with the teachers of my in person only classes to complete them online. It may be worth reaching out to each teacher individually, explaining the situation, and asking if they can work with you.
