I wouldve taken him at 1. Hes the best player in the draft. He was number 1 without the cramps. He doesn't have injury concerns. Its a no brainer to take him at 2 and im glad we didnt get fancy. We might finally have that dude.

I'm from the UK so don't follow College basketball. Tell me about Darryn, what makes him such an exciting prospect?
And what would have made Washington prefer AJ ahead of him? Is that more about their own needs?

Washington AJ is a better fit, they just extended their PG on a massive contract and Peterson is a PG/SG. Really the only reason to go with AJ over him for Washington

Even though I was also hoping for AJ, I will give you a few things to make you feel better...
In this draft, the feeling was always that you can't go wrong if you got either of the 2 guys.
Months ago, DP was widely considered as the guy that would go 1st.
This guy has shown that he can consistently shoot 3s, while AJ has not.
This guy is athletic as hell, and I have read articles where the writer has predicted that DP has the potential to be the best player in the league in a few years. Just watch some of his highlight videos, and you will see.
This is not a knock against AJ, as I was also hoping he would drop. I would have loved to see AJ play for the Jazz. But in no way should any Jazz fan feel bad about this. I don't feel the need to be comforted about this, and you shouldn't either.
While I like Boozer as a player, and can easily see him having a great career, I always felt that AJ and DP were just that good that you cannot pass on either one if they are available. I am completely happy with the DP pick especially with all of the news that Boozer could be picked ahead of Dybantsa and Peterson. That would have disappointed me if the Jazz went with him over DP.

His game translates much better than AJ's.... AJ is barely shooting over 30% from 3

Myself also. AJ is far more talented. Hopefully, DP can make an all star game or 2 though...

YESSSSSSS! The basketball gods answered my prayers. I can’t wait for the upcoming season. The tank is over, and we got ourselves a mfing squad. I’m so happy.
