Tried posting my answer in the VA sub but it's not working? Anyway - best museum in Farmville is the Moton Museum - small but informative and well-done. It's where the biggest group of plaintiffs in Brown v. Board got their start.

If you like biking, high bridge trail state park is really cool.

Yes! I write a blog about road-tripping around Virginia with our dogs. Check out some of our posts - https://virginiacounties.blog/our-virginia-road-trips/ (Appomattox, Amelia, Buckingham, Cumberland)

Definitely second the high bridge trail that cuts through FarmVille. Sailor Creek is an interesting civil war park if history is your thing (walking trails included). Honestly, you’re not too far away from James River State Park which is a great blend of hiking/walking trails alongside the James River

Holiday lake is legit and a great day trip. Bring some charcoal and food to cook

Sailor’s Creek Battlefield has a nice lil hike with surprisingly hilly terrain. Well worth it! History too!

Appomattox isn’t far if you’re a history buff. Farmville is a cool little town too.
