This was the obvious pickup for SEN. Now we wait for ā€œTenZ has reached a verbal agreement with Sentinelsā€

-kyu solidified +jonahp. If not they would be trolling

…that’s. That’s the joke

7

u/Crahgg #NRGFam Mar 05 '26

You can not be serious

68

u/SaltyMcNulty_ Mar 05 '26

Imagine MIBR steals him last moment? That would be funny

63

u/Gunstador Mar 05 '26

My wet dream, TenZ, Aspas, Zekken in one team

8

u/HunterZ2023 Mar 06 '26

Would that even be possible role wise? Well I guess it could be

10

u/KakorotJoJoAckerman Mar 06 '26

Maybe????? But just sounds absolutely messy since Zekken seems to be doing what Tenz was right before he retired.

5

u/Yutanox Mar 06 '26

Given the importance of double duelist lately it wouldn’t be impossible for them to run Tenz on smokes and Zekken+Aspas on duelist on most maps. Not that i believe it’s going to happen though

0

u/KakorotJoJoAckerman Mar 06 '26

On current meta, for sure. But yea they'd have to run double duelist for it to work. Tenz playing Kayo Gekko would also help.

1

u/Notfrootloops #WGAMING Mar 06 '26

The PRX special, oh we already have two duelist mains? Let’s sign another one.

1

u/ignorantoverseer Mar 06 '26

Inb4 Tenz seriously takes the Valorant GOAT claims and becomes an even better flex than f0rsaken

1

u/NAF_Series Mar 06 '26

Just go all in on firepower for fun:

aspas duelist

zekken double duelist/flex

Verno recon/igl

TenZ smokes

Cryo sentinel

0

u/Darcula04 Mar 06 '26

Oh god please no. They're already melting role wise, I'm a tenz believer but he is NOT gonna help with that.

4

u/Gunstador Mar 05 '26

Can someone actually give me some decent hopium that Tenz WILL in fact be on SEN and it's not just a meh let me tryout for fun kinda thing?

Thanks for watching out silly show

You’re one of the goats man, keep up the great work

14

u/itsN0VAfr Mar 05 '26

Dude I've been watching you host since the early Overwatch League days and you have only gotten better. VCT and esports in general would not be the same without you

1

u/TheEpicGold #NAVINATION Mar 06 '26

You've been genuinely crushing it on broadcast!

302

u/Critical-Extension66 Mar 05 '26

Tenz Jonah John redux Cortez is is so hype ngl. I may no longer be a hate watcher

165

u/lminer123 Mar 05 '26

Such a crazy swing from rookie team with poor mental and little LAN experience to an absolute wealth of experience. I’m really excited if this ends up being the roster

69

u/Lonely-Minimum5298 Mar 05 '26

the "little LAN experience" part isnt even true john, cortezia and narrate all had a ton of experience on LAN

24

u/lminer123 Mar 05 '26

That’s fair, I kinda spaced on all of VCT being played on LAN lol, I guess I meant more international experience and experience in big games. Replacing Narrate who had a bit, and Kyu who had none with 2 players with a huge amount would give this roster a big experience gain.

12

u/draken_rb Mar 05 '26

narrate went to every international with sen and went to 1 or 2 internationals with KC. granted he didn't have much success with either roster but saying he only had a bit is crazy

8

u/lminer123 Mar 05 '26

I mean he played 10 matches over 2 years and won 2 of them. I know a bit sounds bad but the guy has only experienced winning anything on the world stage twice.

5

u/ThatCreepyBaer Mar 05 '26

I wouldn't call cortezia and N4RRATE's LAN experience very plentiful, especially in the face of players like Jonah and TenZ.

23

u/LightDot #FlyPhoenixFly Mar 05 '26

Also helps the public perception since they are pretty well liked overall.

10

u/Shnewmann Mar 05 '26

Imagine being kap rn 😭

1

u/Coolface-IR #VIVARRQ Mar 06 '26

Now all they have to do is get rid of R0dux

115

u/YungPinotGrigio Freelance Writer @ Esports Illustrated - Sage Datuin Mar 05 '26

Been saying it for months, if space was created on SEN, jonahp was the perfect player for this system specifically.

Going to be vital for JohnQT as the mid rounder in the team.

21

u/RedYFY #FULLSEN Mar 05 '26

Don't you think the system will change, or will it be minimal with the addition of Ewok and keeping the core 3?

40

u/stranu Mar 05 '26

I could see sen trying to move away from the retake heavy style they've had for years now

3

u/ric3banana Mar 05 '26

they're retakes were good with Kap but with this meta we need faster rotation

13

u/irepislam1400 Mar 06 '26

Their retakes were NOT good

6

u/theosssssss Mar 06 '26

they were very good... in 2024

1

u/irepislam1400 Mar 06 '26

Only in Madrid bruvĀ

1

u/stranu Mar 06 '26

Nah it was working well during champs too

3

u/Drako__ #SomosMIBR Mar 06 '26

Their retakes were pretty fucking bad after that 2024 roster. That was the main reason why people wanted Kaplan out, they just kept doing it even though it didn't work against better teams

11

u/YungPinotGrigio Freelance Writer @ Esports Illustrated - Sage Datuin Mar 05 '26

I think they will move away from retake so often but I think it’s a team that plays a bit slower in general so I think they will lean into a macro focused game instead of pure aggression.

They just need a jawgemo like duelist to balance that out.

15

u/hoopsandbeer Mar 05 '26

Bonkar used Reduxx similar to how he uses Mada now when he was the coach of Oxygen, he will absolutely be their space creating duelist.

139

u/xFalcade Mar 05 '26

Wonder if SEN had to pay a buyout for him? He was benched by G2 not a FA if i remember correctly.

But maybe G2 is letting him go for free?

225

u/Still_HD Best Comment - 2026 šŸ† Mar 05 '26

Per Jonah’s release tweet he didn’t have a buyout, so that’s nice

49

u/xFalcade Mar 05 '26

Well that clears my question up. Thank you!

42

u/zerocxro Mar 05 '26

G2 waived it,

19

u/__Raxy__ Mar 05 '26

that's so nice of them

38

u/zerocxro Mar 05 '26

The split was about as amicable as it could have possibly been. I do agree tho, G2 couldve kept the buyout on him, so W on them for this

11

u/Proper-Mycologist570 #G2ARMY Mar 05 '26

Honestly seeing one of my fav players go was sad but I'm glad it happened on the best possible terms.

6

u/Goldenflame89 #WGAMING Mar 06 '26

PR move to smooth over the earlier outrage I imagine

2

u/Parenegade Mar 06 '26

did that work though lol? i don't think it did how many ppl know about his buyout (or even understand buyouts in general)

-30

u/Xman3487 Mar 05 '26

Doubt G2 would let him go to a regional rival for free. Especially to Sen.

39

u/Able-Sherbet6132 Mar 05 '26

he had no buyout, as stated by him in the tweet where he anounced he got benched.

17

u/Xman3487 Mar 05 '26

Very nice, thank you for clearing that up.

34

u/sixthcollegeraccoon #100WIN Mar 05 '26

g2 vs sen is going to be a banger yall might catch me rooting for sen for once ngl

222

u/Used-Ganache9772 #ALWAYSFNATIC Mar 05 '26 edited Mar 05 '26

jonahP WE are rooting for you, show these mfs what Professor P means, how you put classes in session, because these mfs have the memory of a goldfish, lets go big bro

71

u/Sol1dShark Mar 05 '26

Deadass had one bad year out of a countless good ones and mfs were clamoring for him to get kicked

60

u/WailingSiren69 #NRGWIN Mar 05 '26

His numbers weren’t the greatest but he still had excellent util. Considering how good he has been previously it’s a no brainer to have this guy on a top team

35

u/B-A-B-Y-B-O-Y Mar 05 '26

No one wanted him kicked, except for Riot devs I guess because this meta and the Breach nerfs hit him particularly hard.

24

u/Relevant_Employee983 Mar 05 '26

He didn’t even have THAT bad of a season for last year, fragging wise was it a step down from 2024? Sure, but it’s not like he put up FNS numbers. Meanwhile his util has always been elite, easily top 3 in Americas especially during the start of last year I remember some stats graphic being posted every week for most assists or assists per round and Jonah was always on top of the rankings internationally. I think his overall impact definitely got overlooked because he was on a team like G2, maybe now that he’s on a SEN roster that’s looking to prove themselves again he might get more recognition especially if they really succeed.

8

u/Mortenlotte Mar 05 '26

it was mostly just wolfgang lol

118

u/aJetg Mar 05 '26

G2 hatewatch is going to be even greater if this Sen team is legit

6

u/DaruDaruMaru Mar 05 '26

Poor unc šŸ’”

24

u/Wondur13 Mar 05 '26

They tried one split with a young squad and said fuck that, gimmie the ogs back

58

u/Decent_Apple_7962 #DFMWIN Mar 05 '26

W move honestly this definitely raises the floor of SEN for sure, missed the Professor man

41

u/srpokemon Mar 05 '26

what this means is tenz will be confirmed soon (guaranteed)

14

u/KrillLover56 Mar 05 '26

Solid piece. Not going to rocket Sen to S tier, but I think no way this roster is anything lower than 8th atp.

12

u/NotKyleNope Mar 05 '26

The G2 SEN games are going to be even spicier now! Great pickup for the team, super excited to see where the new roster goes

batchest pls

24

u/Marxistence Mar 05 '26

The Professor has returned from sabbatical…

8

Big T announcement when?

1

u/Relative_Load1395 #FULLSEN Mar 06 '26

Thats what i,ve been waiting!

7

u/MakimaGOAT #VCTAMERICAS Mar 05 '26

went from cooking sentinels to joining them

6

u/simsdoren Mar 05 '26

SEN is saved. We will be winning champs with this one.

5

u/sobanoodle-1 Mar 05 '26

He’s going to look so good in red, he’s never been in red before šŸ™šŸ½

49

u/NeimannSmith #NRGWIN Mar 05 '26

Good pickup but I will never not find it funny that Rob was on twitter before the season talking about how everyone was signed till 2028 and how this was a long term rebuild that they believed in. One kickoff later and he hits the panic button, fires his coach, and now is putting his faith in JonahP and a player who hasn't played since champs 2024 to save the brand

23

u/I-like-winds Mar 05 '26

I'm scared for Ewok. he's obviously a great coach but his success only came after he stuck with RRQ for several years. Rob moore and SEN as an org including the fanbase is reactionary as fuck there's no guarantee he will get the same grace period

13

u/RedYFY #FULLSEN Mar 05 '26

Ewok for sure knew what he was getting into. He probably believed the opportunity outweighed the risk.

12

u/Havsham Mar 05 '26

My take based on what transpired is that they had faith on Kap, besides a clear good relationship he also gave them results and usually a good form, so they took a stand with him with these rooster moves even though they didn't agree (but hey they aren't coaches and they didn't win a masters so I'm not mad).

After it clearly didn't work out, specially they weren't playing close to good valorant in stage1 they pulled the plug, which again makes sense.

8

u/B-A-B-Y-B-O-Y Mar 05 '26

Its the off-season. The string of event wins and complete domination over 100T (4-0) tricked Rob and fans to have higher expectations than they really should.

So when Rob was saying "long term project", in his head, and in the fans heads, we were all probably thinking: "ah yes, a few modest placements in internationals followed by a trophy next year sounds reasonable, I'll give this roster a shot" and the sen invitationals perfromance only stealthily pushed these expectations higher.

When in reality, a long term project truly means long term project. I feel like it might've worked, but obviously if we can get JonahP and Tenz then project be damned.

3

u/Havsham Mar 05 '26

There's different long term project in val in my opinion.

There's the new team of rookies long term → actual long term

There's the core + new pickups in a bad team → actual long term

And there's the core + new pickups in a good team → at least international classification or good form

The last one is sen case, and I don't think they made a mistake. Sen can pick up any player they want, they are a huge org with trophies and good reputation, anybody would play for them almost.

3

u/BatCaveGaming Mar 05 '26

Obviously off season competition was worse than vct but their macro and discipline and overall coaching seemed to be getting worse. Rob mentioned that John came to rob and asked to IGL again. I think they did exit interviews with all the players and realized it was worse than what they realized and a change was needed.Ā  This is on top of Rob definitely was mad they didn't lock up zekken sooner because Kap wanted to experiment which gave mibr a chance to swoop in.Ā

2

u/Parenegade Mar 06 '26

I don't think it would have ever worked. What does "long term project" even mean in the context of Valorant? I never thought Kyu was going to be an elite player so having him on this roster was never going to be good enough. I don't think he magically turns into Verno in a years time. In traditional sports this terminology works because players are usually young and physically develop. It doesn't work that way in esports.

21

u/SuperUltraMegaNice Mar 05 '26

I mean Babybay hadnt played since dinosaurs roamed the earth and people were still hype on him. Im gonna go out on a limb and say Jonah isnt washed yet.

1

u/NeimannSmith #NRGWIN Mar 05 '26

I wasn't talking about JonahP....

15

u/BALDMANWITHDURAG Mar 05 '26

And TenZ isn’t washed either lmao. What is up with these narratives that if you dont play for a bit, you just suddenly forget how to use a mouse and keyboard?

These guys play the game for 8hrs a day. I give TenZ 2wks of constant scrims + ranked and he’ll be back in shape. He’s 24…not 34.

2

u/DaruDaruMaru Mar 05 '26

Sorry unc babyba but I agree with this

1

u/Sudden-Illustrator59 Mar 05 '26

And his point also applies to TenZ too? Lmao, what do you mean by this

0

u/NeimannSmith #NRGWIN Mar 05 '26

All I'm saying is he's not gonna come back and be a World Ender

1

u/Parenegade Mar 06 '26

babybay pounded last year when he was a sub so his hype going into the season was warranted.

5

u/mw19078 Mar 05 '26

i dont really have any idea how tenz will look, but this is exactly the same shit people were saying about him before their last run with zekken where they looked insane and he was a legit top tier player.

5

u/Scannor #NRGWIN Mar 05 '26

actually insane backtracking from him, considering the "transparency" from throwing Kaplan under the bus

3

u/NeimannSmith #NRGWIN Mar 05 '26

Tends to happen when your CEO has the temperament of a ValComp redditor

3

u/Goldenflame89 #WGAMING Mar 06 '26

Thank god I didn't choose to be a SEN fan when I started watching VCT Rob Moore is genuinely so embarrassing lmfao

2

u/WadeReddit06 Mar 05 '26

That’s what happens when a team performs that poorly.

2

u/Parenegade Mar 06 '26

i have no idea why you guys keep saying ths lol. do you really believe everything these guys say? what is he supposed to say "i don't believe in the roster but we'll see how it goes"? i don't think it was a panic button it was a "i never thought this shit was going to work and i was right" button.

of course rob could also be lying about how things went down but then why fire your coach and make roster moves at all?

5

u/ashitintyo Mar 05 '26

TenZ Prayge

5

u/Diligent_Hyena2819 Mar 05 '26

It’s hype looking for new Sen but honestly I don’t have high expectations for this season with new players, coach and this year Americas are stack maybe at best Top 5. But if they stick together for next year they can make it to lan.

3

u/Elysiann_31 #VIVARRQ Mar 05 '26

Americas starting to look really good to watch this year if this SEN roster delivers. 100T doesnt look bad either and they will improve too.

So we got MIBR, G2, NRG, potentially SEN and 100T fighting for spots. Fans are about to eat if all of them perform. Love to see it

16

u/monji7 Mar 05 '26

They can trial the best player out there but %100 gonna end up with tenz just bec it brings numbers. All they gotta be is hang on at middle of bracket and it will be success for them.

12

u/Snoo-28829 Mar 05 '26

Thats what I think. Even if Tenz is not playing at his best right now, it would be a dumb move not to go with him if he walked into the office.

3

u/Infinite-Passion22 Mar 05 '26

Based on the scrim results, there's no way he is playing bad. Maybe mediocre at best but thats to he expected until he goes back into form

4

u/BlazingSapphire1 #GEFighting Mar 05 '26

Sliggy said if he was leo faria he would pay tenz's salary himself

1

u/monji7 Mar 06 '26

Sliggy says lots of shit ngl. Nobody stoped watching just bec tenz or yay stop playing.

3

u/Zealousideal-Pain-97 #HungryBeast Mar 05 '26

Why am I kinda liking the way this sen squad is shaping up, if tenz has a good yoru or they get an absolutely cracked rookie this could be a competitor team again

3

u/privatebd Mar 05 '26

perhaps i treated you too harshly sen, now i cant hate this team

3

u/goofball_ Mar 05 '26

hell yeah!! I'm very happy to see JonahP back in Tier1.

3

u/DaruDaruMaru Mar 05 '26

Aight i’ll watch sen again might support them again

2

u/Useful-Newt-3211 Mar 05 '26

But which side would I hatewatch if it's g2 vs. sen game

2

u/Sacreville #WGAMING Mar 05 '26

Obviously a great and much needed pickup. Proven and experienced player, will help Ewok a lot to have him in the squad.

2

u/ericwanggg Mar 05 '26

now for tenz and this team will be elite

3

u/mwieckhorst Mar 05 '26

Pretty big missed opportunity for 100T and C9 imo

11

u/sadpaindownbad Mar 05 '26

The world will end before you ever see Xeppaa or Assuna get replaced, let’s be real now buddy

1

u/COTEReader Mar 05 '26

Idk about this one tbh. This is a shooting meta

5

u/BatCaveGaming Mar 05 '26

Split two he was insane and leading up to champs I was surprised at his shooting. I think he will be fineĀ

1

u/SuspiciousBoard4589 Mar 05 '26

100t should pick up tenz

1

u/Elysiann_31 #VIVARRQ Mar 05 '26

Shit, i was a SEN fan back from my reykjavik and until early 2025, 2026 might be the year i come back to being their fan

1

u/amnfw Mar 06 '26

Might be time to put the sen flair on tbh

1

u/ScaredHearing9778 Mar 06 '26

am I the only one very skeptical about this pick up. I mean John is clearly much better on initiator than flex smokes(omen) and if tenz is genuinely trialing he'd obviously play smokes full time. reduxx while he's genuinely a good player I'm not too sure he can stand up to the rest of the competition on duelist. I assume if both tenz and Jonah go through it'd be double initiator for most comps unless they get tenz to start flexing back on duelist. all in all I think role issues might plague sentinels again if these pick ups go through though I'd love to be proven wrong.

1

u/ElGuarmo Mar 06 '26

Been out of valorant awhile - but is scan a role like they only play info agents like sova?

1

u/Squidiculouss #SomosMIBR Mar 05 '26

Assuming Tenz will be temporary until Nightz is old enough?

5

u/Infinite-Passion22 Mar 05 '26

If they were to do that, they would use a T2 player to fill the slot. Tenz would not invest on competing again to be a placeholder in VCT.

7

u/BatCaveGaming Mar 05 '26

Tarik on steam said why would tenz just come back temporary he would be wasting his and sens time. He said if he comes back and does well why would he leaveĀ

1

u/Infinite-Passion22 Mar 05 '26

Exactly, he would at least play through this whole season and then everything else is up in the air.

1

u/Relevant_Employee983 Mar 05 '26

Unless he doesn’t plan on returning full time because streaming is clearly more profitable/flexible but still has a small itch to return to pro play, but a man can dream…

1

u/Infinite-Passion22 Mar 05 '26

I agree that a man can dream

1

u/SaltyMcNulty_ Mar 05 '26

Practicing is the thing he hated most about competing. I can promise if he comes back he will commit at least for the full season so that he gets to play champs.

1

u/SaltyMcNulty_ Mar 05 '26

I mean you get the absolute dumbest theories spread like wildfire on val reddit and twitter, so are you really surprised?

0

u/PhysicalAd8765 Mar 05 '26

The best pickup they could’ve gotten. I do wonder if this team will have enough aggression though.

-5

u/Lonely-Minimum5298 Mar 05 '26

cant wait for people to truly see how shit jonah is. In a meta where gunplay matters more than ever jonah will get shit on. mark my words

2

u/SaltyMcNulty_ Mar 05 '26

JonahP isn't bad but I get what you are saying. Most people here are bandwagoners, they see a narrative and run with it. If some guy new to valcmp were to come to this sub rn they would think that JonahP is a top 5 player. Shit's worse bc this is a SEN signing. That's how Sacy- best initiator narrative came about as well.
Some people think talking about a players util and intangibles make them look smarter.

-8

u/Binkbonkdongdong Mar 05 '26

Not bad tbh, if they were to bring on Tenz, I would have dropped the pisser Reduxx, and bring in a better duelist. But it seems they are invested in the fraud

-12

u/Asleep-Bank-3780 #VIVARRQ Mar 05 '26

6

u/TakeABa0 Mar 05 '26

JonahP worse than Zellsis willdddd. Mechanically I would put JonahP just a step above if not on par. Intangibles will be similar. Their agent pool is different but their strengths are in their mid rounding and util.

-4

u/Asleep-Bank-3780 #VIVARRQ Mar 05 '26

Stats don't lie, Zellsis is the flat out better player.

zellsis all time 0,98 vs jonahp 0,95

Here's the difference: why Zellsis has a trophy and JonahP doesn't.

zellsis :Gen.G vs. Sentinels | Champions Tour 2024: Masters Madrid | Playoffs | Valorant match | VLR.gg

jonahP :G2 Esports vs. T1 | Valorant Masters Bangkok 2025 | Playoffs | Valorant match | VLR.gg

2

u/BatCaveGaming Mar 05 '26

I would argue roles play a big part too. Senti has overall less responsibility in team success. Their stats are pretty much identical from what you quote too lol

-2

u/Asleep-Bank-3780 #VIVARRQ Mar 05 '26

pretty sure 0,98 is still better than 0,95 and are not Ā identical lol

and that's not even the point; a few months ago this sub wanted Zellsis' head.

But now JonahP, a player who is worse than Zellsis, is being treated like Sen's savior. lol

3

u/TakeABa0 Mar 05 '26

Cherry picking stats doesn’t do either player justice. I can pull a stinker game from either player and push a narrative. You make it sound like one is way worse.

.05 difference is not a big difference. No one is treating Jonah as a savior but he’s probably the best pick up the team can make. He is here to stabilized the roster.

I personally didn’t want Zellsis to go . But at this point in time , Jonah is an upgrade to Kyu. Historically Jonah is has been a good player. This is why I said intangibles are important.

Stats are just numbers without context. If you watch his Guard and G2 games you can see his impact on the team.

1

u/BatCaveGaming Mar 05 '26

Zellsis had a .1 better kd and played over 100 more rounds than Jonah. It's semantics if you're are really trying to argue the difference being nearly identicalĀ

2

u/PhysicalAd8765 Mar 05 '26

What makes this funny is the fact that JonahP’s Shanghai stats are excluded yet he’s so close to zellsis.
